<div class="quote_poster">Quoting PlaTsanity:</div><div class="quote_post">omg odom as PG? what are you smoking? Phil Jackson loves McKie's game and he will probably start him</div> Odom could play PG very easily, he has great handles, what's wrong with it?
According to hoopshype.com's depth charts, Lamar is capable of playing every position except for center.
Kobe does enough already, I don't see him playing PG because he needs to control the offense and draw defenders away from the ball.
BECAUSE he'd be out of his natural position AGAIN. We need to give him a chance at Small Forward. With Odom at PG he'll grab less rebounds, and be beaten on defense by just about every PG in the west (Parker, Telfair, Nash, Boykins etc). Latrell is a virus to the team, but you gotta admit that Spree didn't make any noise when the wolves went to the WCF. With Spree at Point, the Lakers would be winning, and he'd have his contract...he'd have nothing to complain about. I'm still not sure about him tho

Let him know what his role is going to be, what their expectations of him are, and make it clear this team has a lot of question marks still. I don't think Sprewell should start for the Lakers, I think he would be more valuable off the bench. The starting lineup has enough scorers already, but there's no one off the bench capable of going for 15 to 20 points a night. Sprewell gives the Lakers fire power off the bench, especially subbing in for Kobe or Odom.
May someone PLEASE keep this post up to date? Any news on Spree put in here. I heard by espn.com that chances are he will be signing with the Nuggets.

The Lakers are interested, but Sprewell and his agent want them to work out a sign and trade with the TWolves.
What happens if NOBODY wants Spree and the Lakers don't want a sign-and-trade? How long does Spree have to make a decision?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting lakerman34:</div><div class="quote_post">What happens if NOBODY wants Spree and the Lakers don't want a sign-and-trade? How long does Spree have to make a decision?</div> He has the entire season to make a decision.

Yeah, I'm not so sure about Denver. They are about to sign Earl Watson. And they already signed DeMarr Johnson. And Voshon Lenard is back.

If that's true, then I think we either start him at PG, or do what Shape said and have him come off the Bench. We do have a pretty potent starting lineup already, offensively, but no one on the bench. If we could bring Spree of the bench we would have someone that other teams have to worry about even if Lamar or Kobe's taking a breather. Spree at PG would be good also tho because he's Phil's kind of PG. Big, atheltic gaurd that can shoot, pass and rebound. How is his defense though?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting lakerman34:</div><div class="quote_post">Well, it seems like the Lakers are STILL in talks w/ Sprewell.</div> I think Sprewell signed a one-year deal in L.A. with a player option for a second year, meaning that he could play himself into a better contract with a good showing this season. I just dont know why they haven't had a press conference. It seems like Mitch is on the right track. Miami has not had a chance to chime in yet, but Sprewell does not figure to be a good fit there. He would be behind the younger, more agile James Posey on the depth chart. The Heat needs a pure outside shooter, and Sprewell simply is not that. Besides, why wouldn't Spree want to sign with the Lakers and spend the first week in October in Hawaii? Note: I adopted one of Sprewell kids and that is why he will be in the purple and gold. Please dont ask me for no SOURCES because i clearly said I think.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting lakerman34:</div><div class="quote_post">Well, it seems like the Lakers are STILL in talks w/ Sprewell.</div> The latest update I read was the Lakers being the front-runner, but Detroit is still in the picture, and you can't count out Miami since they still have their entire MLE. The hold up right now is Spree's agent is still trying to work out a sign & trade for his client to get him more money.
IF Miami picks up Sprewell, then it's over..... for the Heat. Right now they are set to ink Gary Payton and they are talking to Sprewell too. Van Gundy is probably sweating horribly right now, but too the point. The only way for me to accept Sprewell as a Laker is if he plays good team basketball and none of this "me, me, me" crap.
