<div class="quote_poster">Quoting YourNewChef:</div><div class="quote_post">IF Miami picks up Sprewell, then it's over..... for the Heat. Right now they are set to ink Gary Payton and they are talking to Sprewell too. Van Gundy is probably sweating horribly right now, but too the point. The only way for me to accept Sprewell as a Laker is if he plays good team basketball and none of this "me, me, me" crap.</div> Is Spree and MIA even in negotiation? I heard its LA or no way at the moment?.. I think Spree has the potential to still play great team ball (i know judging by my name/sig/avator that is a very bias comment).. But realistically it was only last season with his sour play and silly "family feeding" comment that tarnished his reputation.. he was playing great basketball from the moment he put on a knick jersey till last season where he wasnt very productive and mouthed off too much. He needs to close his mouth and play ball like he did in New York.. sure he's older now but he can be a great role player and still put up good numbers. I wish Knicks never got rid of him! Also, i have a question.. so if he doesn't decide to sign now with LA or they can't work out a sign and trade.. what happens? Will he be in a Wolves jersey till they figure something out?
Oh man, Sprewell in LA? It's bad enough you guys have Kobe who doesn't get along well with anybody and makes more enemies than friends. Then you bend the envelope by bringing Phil back who will strangle Kobe to death for taking so many horrible shots, turning the ball over, and will be seeking therapy as soon as the season starts. But now you're adding Sprewell? Well, all I can say is it's over.
I guess i don't understand peoples line ups that say Lamar at the point. Yeah i know he has handle but Spree has got to come off the bench, or at least beat out Lamar for the spot, or Kwame play so bad in camp(God forbid) that Lamar goes back to power. I just think starting Lamar at the point to accomidate Latrell looks like the Lakers are reaching. NO we got this guy by the balls, he has to earn min off the bench plus a second team of: 1.Smush 2.Spree 3.Luke/Devan 4.Martinez 5.Andrew Looks......stable enough with spree leading....here's to hoping Brian Cook is part of the 3 team trade and it sends us a 3 point threat
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Then why not put have a lineup that looks like this?: PG: Lamar Odom SG: Kobe Bryant SF: Latrell Sprewell PF: Kwame Brown C: Chris Mihm</div> I've said it a million times, having Lamar at the Point wouldn't work. I mean it would technically and he could do it, but we should let him play at his natural position for once. SF.
Sprewell Is Not A Good Fit,he Likes To Get His Shots And Kobe And Lamar Are The 1st And 2nd Options And With Kwame Brown Coming There Won't Be Many Shots For Sprewell.

The two players they traded, Caron Butler and Chucky Atkins accounted for 28 points per game and where the 3rd and 4th leading scorers on the team. Adding Latrell Sprewell gives the Lakers a viable third option on the court and he will take some of the scoring pressure off of Kobe and Odom. More importantly, Sprewell can still play defense and will play under control with Phil Jackson head coaching this team.
I just hope we can do everythin possible to aquire him. That definitely translates into more wins for 05 - 06
