The Heat will be way too dangerous if they had him.
If Finley wants to win and have a shot at the ring, he'll go to Miami or SA...if he wants to be a playoff contender/have a shot at going deep in the playoffs, he'll go to Phoenix...I really dont see him going to Minny...
I have a very strong feeling that he will sign with the Spurs because signing with the Spurs will give him more of a role. The Suns got Nash and Amare, the Heat got Shaq and Wade plus the Walker, Posey, Williams etc, and I highly doubt that he will sign with Wolves primairly because of where they stand as far as a championship goes. If with the Spurs he would have more of a role and arguably the best shot at winning a title. The type of role he would have is probably the type of role Ginobili had when he was a 6th man, and from what I remeber that was a pretty big role. Duncan is not hte type of superstar that really takes away much from other guys, so basically the only person that would be in his way is Ginobili. Thus that is why I think he will joibn the Spurs. The Spurs already have great defense, so they wouldn't rely on him much to play defense and he could stick with what he does best as in scoring. If signing with the other teams they will want him to play some defense and score at the same time.
He should go to SA or Miami. They have the best chances at the championship and they can help him when he's on the defensive side of the ball since both teams are good defensively.
As much i love Miami i think he should join the Suns. Miami is a really strong team, and a team which i believe has a really strong chance of winning a championship But if Finley actually wants a role i say he should the Suns. Pheonix is a great team, with great chemistry and i am sure Finley will fit in perfectly with Nash and the rest of the team. As for championships I think the Suns will advance to the NBA Finals with Finley and should get a championship in 2-3 years.
i'd love to see him on the Suns. Im actually both a Heat and Suns fan but on the Heat, I wouldnt like him, as he probably wouldnt get his deserved playing time. On the Suns, however, it would be good. C - Amare Stoudamire PF - Kurt Thomas (i guess?) SF - Shawn Marion SG - Finley PG - Nash looks good to me, although thats just one option, as im sure there's others.
Just thought you should know on Pop's radio show today he said he thinks Finley is headed to Phoenix. Just his opinion of course but It's still up in the air right now.
thats GOOD to hear. fills me with hope anyway... if filey signs then i see a diffrent starting lineup which is still very offensivly orentiated nash bell finley marion stoudemire this lineup would still kick some serious a**
if finley did sign with the Suns bell would not start because the reason they got Kurt Thomas was to put Stoudamire back into his normal position; PF, Marion back as SF and make Kurt their C Their line-up will look smth like this: C--Thomas PF--Stoudamire SF--Marion SG--Finley PG--Nash Bench: Bell Diaw Grant and yeah this line-up doess kick @$$ lol
the reasons that i think that stoudemire would start on center with marion as PF is that dantoni said that they will keep running and more importantly because stoudemire accpeted playing point center. ps wow when was the last time that we had a decent amount of quality frontcourt backups (grant thomas and i'll even add burke ) as oposed to number of backcourt players
I was pissed when Q got traded but looking back at the trade now wow it helped the Suns a lot I thought they had a great team and bad bench last year and this year its an amazing team and a good bench
No way going to Spurs Nick the Quick Van Excel has signed with them I doubt Finley will go there now come on Phoenix
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting bronbron23:</div><div class="quote_post">No way going to Spurs Nick the Quick Van Excel has signed with them I doubt Finley will go there now come on Phoenix</div> Spurs didn't have to go into the MLE to sign Nick, therefore he could very well end up in S.A.
i have a strange feelin about it buh for some reason i think he's headed to a Tandem with KG or mayb that feeling is me being a desperate Wolves fan
