    LOL

i don't think Jalen Rose should be traded because he is a great player (even if he lacks D) he is probably why ppl showed up in the ACC last year (aside from Bosh and Bonner) he has heart and just wants to win some games, he is not whiny and if he is not happy he doesn't say "I WANT TO BE TRADED" he sticks with it almost every night, and if he doesn't get the calls he just tosses his head band at the ref, why would we trade one of our best players, that can score with a post up, dunk, shoot, and has that nod he does when he scores lol i think jalen is one of our best players and even though he has a HUGE contract we should keep him. how many games would the raptors have won if he was not there last season ?

I think you trade Jalen any chance you get. The guy has a huge contract and wines to much to be helpful for us. We are trying to mold a young team and a guy like him just gets in the way. Dump him and his huge contract at the first chance that arises.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Carcharias:</div><div class="quote_post">...oops, one other thing.

The trade would have to include Szczerbiak. I would guess either Szczerbiak and Olowokandi OR Szczerbiak and Hudson for Rose and probally Loren Woods.

At least that would be my guess. There wouldn't be too many other combinations that would make sense.

Only problem is it becomes a vicious cycle. Most likely, any team who is interested in JR would more than likely want cap relief come 2006/2007 season. With that said, we would likely receive contract, perhaps bloated contracts which expire after 06/07 season.

It may be better to just wait out his contract since he IS producing and part ways once it expires instead of receiving a handful of contract expiring years from now.

Yes, we are trying to mold a younger team but every team needs a veteran leader. Jalen Rose isn't a whiner, nor is he any sort of cancer. I don't think you know what you're talking about. We can't just dump a guy like Rose, especially with the contract he has because it's likely that we'll get another dude who has a bloated contract in return. The Raps should just let him finish his contract, then possibly waive him to give room for some new players. Jalen was very helpful in his years here in Toronto and I've said it before and I'll say it again. This dude has the most heart in the Raps roster.

I don't really like this trade. I'm not a fan of Wally's contract and injury problems. Jalen is still our best scorer on our team, and for a team with limited players who can create their on shot, acquiring Wally wouldn't help this team at all. Jalen's contract is big, but it only has 2 years left on it, and he becomes a tradebale assest next off-season. Plus, Jalen is better than Wally.

So what we trade away his contract then over-pay Wally for 2 more years?

I wouldn't consider Jalen a cancer to the raptors at all ... He was actually a really good contributor this last year on and off the court (aside from his non-existent defense). When guy was sent to the bench in favor of starting someone else he said he didn't like it... but he responded and played his way back into the starting line up. He also established himself as a guy you want to give the ball to in crunch time. I think that relative to what we are going to get for jalen on the market we should probably keep him.......

The amount of criticism this guy gets compared to what he does is ridiculous. It sounds like people haven't actually watched him play this past year in Toronto and are basing their opinions on the way he was in Chicago, his first year with the raps, etc....

There's no way this trade would happen. It goes against everything Babcock stands for, which is to get younger and more athletic while planning for some cap flexibility in 2007. That is why he signed Bonner to a 2-year deal when he wanted a 4-year deal and didn't take on any contracts that last beyond 06-07. Szecerbiak also has a trade kicker clause built into his contract and if he is traded, the recipient team would have to pay 20% extra in salaries.

to me rumours substantiate that a player is being shopped around.
