<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Mavericks finally made it official Friday when they announced that Rolando Blackman and Joe Prunty have been hired as assistant coaches on Avery Johnson's staff.

Blackman and Prunty will join Del Harris and Larry Riley next to Johnson on the bench.

A fan favorite during his playing days with the Mavericks, Blackman spent the past five years on the team's player development staff, including the past two as the director of player development. He also worked on the TV broadcasts last season.

Blackman is the Mavs' all-time leading scorer with 16,643 points, and ranks in the top 10 in 18 of the team's statistical categories.

"Ro also shares in our vision, but more than anything he is very loyal," Johnson said. "He wants to help bring a championship to Dallas."</div>
