Michael finley sigining with miami will not put the team over the top but will probably cause it to crumble. With a team with shaq, wade , jason williams, posey and antoine walker, there will only be so many shots. not to mention you'll probably have three people fighting for the same starting 3 spot. Miami is getting gready, and it seems like they're doing their best imitation of the lakers 03-04 year with all the overloaded talent. They should stop now while they're ahead.
Michael Finley is looking to compete for a championship and wants money. Explain to me again, why wouldn't he want to sign with the Heat?
Finley is a veteran and knows how to handle himself. He will be a teamplayer and really contribute backing up Wade or even starting at the 3 which means Toine will primarily backup at the 4.
Miamis a great time and they have the best chance of winning a championship They wont fight among each other, and their chemistry would be amazing. I was hoping that they would fire van gundy and hire Phil before but that didint happen If Finley realllyy wants a championship; he should go Miami But if he wants to play and contribute a lot; he should go Suns. Both good teams and good chances of winning a championship BTW If Finley does sign with the heats how many years would he sign for?
The reason is Miami doesn't need him with the guys they already have, miami isn't cleveland trying to rebuild after losing out on the playoffs last year, this was a team that made it to game seven of the eastern conference finals last season, Miami should look at detroit and san antonio and see that they're doing the smart thing by only adding a few role players to fill some spots and not overhauling and changing the formula.
get all the stars <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Lamont:</div><div class="quote_post">The reason is Miami doesn't need him with the guys they already have, miami isn't cleveland trying to rebuild after losing out on the playoffs last year, this was a team that made it to game seven of the eastern conference finals last season, Miami should look at detroit and san antonio and see that they're doing the smart thing by only adding a few role players to fill some spots and not overhauling and changing the formula.</div> Miami needs all the stars they can get so they'll always have someone to step up in case of another freak injury, like the one to Wade. That's part of why Riley made all those moves. He also did it in case the competition gets better in the East. Besides, certain people (players and fans) are still in shock of how a star-studded team in their stride suddenly collapsed over five games in June 2004. We're out to prove it was a fluke, and when we win it all with all these "stars" it will kind of prove it. Also, if the team Miami plays in the Finals has anybody who wasn't there when the season began, the Heat will take his ass out in the FIRST GAME. This Larry Brown/Detroit "TEAM" concept will be replaced by the Shaq + 3 or 4 more "STAR" concept. Superstars put together on one team deserve to win the championship because they all sacrificed MONEY to be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike should definitely go! With him, Shaq, Wade, Posey, JWill, Walker, and all the other great players there, they're BOUND to win the title.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">According to Ric Bucher at ESPN, Miami is going to be the winner in the Finley sweepstakes.</div> Sorry but if you go listen to the ESPN motion link there is no indication that Fin is leaning towards Miami. I listened to it twice to make sure I didn't miss it. To me it sounded like he is up in the air between PHX and Mia and that Miami has tons of new pieces and that PHX is a team with ex teammate and plenty of playing time.

Well said man! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Take the World championship / Olympics. Star overload means absolutely nothing in the game anymore. All the Euro teams are based on team ball.
Miami doesn't need Finley because they have James Posey, who is basically a younger, just as talented, and much more defensive minded player that can fit pretty much any role that the team wants him to play. Posey doesn't get a lot of respect because of the ten man rotation that the Grizzlies ran. Last season Posey had troubles with injuries and other related concerns, so that season is pretty much a wash. Look at the last healthy season he played ('04) though. Averaging 14 ppg and 5 rpg on 48% shooting while playing some of the best defense in the NBA in just <u>29.9 mpg</u>, he was probably the MVP of the Grizzlies that year. Now that he's fully healthy, I'm expecting the same results. You're also talking about a guy who is entering his prime at 28 years of age opposed to a guy in Finley who is progressively getting worse as he gets older (he's 32 now). I think the choice is simple. Stay away from Finley and utilize Posey.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The team that won the Michael Finley Sweepstakes is the same team that just won an NBA championship. Finley told ESPN.com on Wednesday that he has chosen to sign with the San Antonio Spurs, spurning a richer offer from the Miami Heat and the lure of an emotional return to the Phoenix Suns to reunite with close friend Steve Nash. Hey Dallas, Michael Finley is heading to your conference rivals. The Dallas Mavericks tried for weeks to move Finley to an Eastern Conference team to prevent him from joining the Spurs or the Suns. When it couldn't swing a trade before the Aug. 15 deadline to exercise the NBA's new amnesty clause, Dallas reluctantly waived the two-time All-Star, making Finley an unrestricted free agent and the target of an intense two-week courtship that also involved the Detroit Pistons and Minnesota Timberwolves. Miami's Pat Riley, Phoenix's Amare Stoudemire and Minnesota's Kevin Garnett were among the big names to fly to Chicago last week to make face-to-face pitches to Finley. In the end, he went with the team that sent a one-man delegation -- Spurs coach Gregg Popovich -- to Finley's hometown. </div> http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/stor...marc&id=2147720 Well, I'm happy.
