I got up and watched part of the American Bowl. But @ 3:00 am local time, it was NOT worth it.

The highlights on Headline News have been a riot. Vick's 1st pass was intercepted to which the announcer he was not in mid season passsing form. I got news for ya buddy, Vick was in mid season form..

Of course, the announcer got all excited about Vick scrambling for a 12 yd gain which is (per the announcer), "Michael Vick doing he what does best." That, of course, is play RB while wearing #7.

Another Vick bashing thread. Why am I not surprised!? [IMG]

Anyway, I haven't watched the game yet, because it isn't televised here in Canada until 7:00 pm EST time. After I do get the chance to watch the game then I might have something to add to this thread. For now I will say it was only the first game of the Pre-season and I refuse to use this performance as any kind of indicator as to what mid-season will look like. Plus the Falcons won! [IMG]

We've gone through this to much now. It's preseason lets wait til the season. There is no way any player is at the form that he will be in the form he wants to be for the season.

um.........Manning was damn well in his form. I happened to stay up and watch the first half and i can tell you that the Colts 1st offense treated the Falcons 1st defense like little girls.

    Preseason.

It means nothing. I think pats said the Patroits lost 3 or 4 games in preseason last year.

I agree that Preseason holds no substance. When regular season comes around things can change pretty quickly. I haven't seen the game yet but from a stats point of view Vick and Manning weren't all that different, granted Manning's numbers were still better but thats expected.

You call it bashing. I call it stating the obvious. I refuse to argue over semantics especially when I'm right.

Well, as shown from this thread every single time Vick makes a mistake on the field there are some people who jump right down his throat about it. Yes, he threw an INT on his 2nd pass, the ball was a little too high for Finneran to go up and grab it. Mistakes happen, and it appears to me that Vick is no longer allowed to make mistakes on the field. Pull up ya skirts, and get over it!

It wasnt really that bad of a pass. He just fired it like a cannon and Finneran couldnt bring it in and that is why he got a INT.

That is exactly one of the things Vick needs to work on. Some of the balls I saw him throw in that game today were just lasers. Vick tends to throw the ball too hard at times and that can cause drops or overthrows. Nothing that he can't work on and improve though. It was a mistake, big deal its only preseason. I'm not too worried about it.

He needs to learn when to take some off his balls. Its good to laser the ball with a safety like 5 yards away. But Bob Sanders probly was 15 yards away when vick let it go
