Uncovering the Laker "Mole" Heard an interesting theory by Dave Smith Show on 1540 the Ticket yesterday. For those who don't remember or didn't hear about it, the Lakers tried to uncover a mole within the organization, who was leaking insider information. Most people thought the mole was leaking trade discussions to the media, but it turns out the mole was actually leaking information to Rudy T to get the head coaching job in LA. The mole told Rudy T, Jerry Buss wanted to bring back Showtime to the Lakers and have an uptempo team again. Rudy T basically had a cheat sheet of all the requirements Jerry Buss was looking for in the next head coach of the Lakers. Dave Smith noted it was ironic since Rudy T has never run a team similar to Showtime at all. His offensive coaching strategy is to walk the ball up, and dump it into the post. He didn't specifically mention who the mole was, but said ask yourself who would gain financially from giving Rudy T the inside scoop.
