    Honestly who would you guys prefer as a starter;
    Shaun Livingston or Sam Cassell?

    IMO i would start Livingston
he played solid last year but got kept down with Injury
    If he can stay injury-free
he will show a greaaaaaaat improvement

What about starting both of them? Start Cassell at the two, put Livingston at the point guard which will probably happen at some point during the season. They are both great players but the best player that would provide a spark off the bench would be Cat with his shooting ability and what not.

I like Livingston at the 1 and Cass at the 2 and Cat off the bench like C.K. I'm pretty confident Livingston will play and pratice his way into the starting lineup sometime this season. The guy's 6'7 which is a huge advantage at PG espeically in the NBA. Besides, wouldn't Cassell playing the 2 help prolong his career? He wouldn't have to worry much about bringing the ball upcourt.

Very true, as C.K. and Char both stated starting both of them would be great. Also correct me if im wrong but isnt Mobley the SG for the clips? or hes going to play small forward?

Expect to see Mike Dunleavy to mix it up. I think Magette's the 3 for the Clips. Cat and Cass probably will start a high percentage of the Clip's games. They are paid a little more than Livingston, but I would be worried about keeping Livingston a Clipper longer, espeically with his youth.

At the start of the season, we'll probably see Cassell and Mobley starting, but around the All-Star break, Livingston will take over. I don't think Mobley would come off the bench. He is someone who needs to be on the floor when the game starts to get into the flow of the game. Besides, his ability to put points on the board and play defense will definitely keep him the starting lineup.

^ like I said before only way a point guard switch takes place during the season is if the Clippers arent winning( mean sitting deep below .500 by all-star break) cause there is no way a team especially the Clippers are going to take a dramtic chance like that if they are winning(above .500) and have a chance to slip into the playoffs during the 2nd half.

I think they should start Shaun ,he is one of the best talents in nba and why to waste it.Cassell is old and he has big ego (IMO).Besides i like tall PG-s.

Is this really a competition? Cassell is at the end of his career. He's been oft-injured since the '04 playoffs and wasn't what I could call spectacular last year. Then, on the other hand, you look at Shaun Livingston. The kid could end up becoming one of the greatest points of all time. He's got phenomenal court vision and he's got great length and height for the point spot. The only thing working against him is the fact that he's a twig. The kids 6'7" and about 170, so it may be easy for the larger points, ala JKidd and BDiddy, push him around. However, the only real downside is overshadowed by his tremendous potential. In my opinion, you go with the future and you start Livingston.

I can imagine they will start cassel but if he struggles this season and or Livingston impresses in general then he will start he also creates a mismatch on d for the other team of course.

cassel and livingston could work but I think this should happen during the game whilst other starters are resting and not at the very beginning. Mobley must be a starter to have the biggest effect he possibly can. He's also a lefty(left handed) which also helps the starting lineup.

livingston is probably the best player of his class in my opinion not named ben gordon

hes solid and 6-8 and a PG thats unheard of and plus hes better than cassel at this pt in cassel's career

id start livingston but look to see cassell start b/c of his attitude and also b/c cassell has allready named himself starting PG

Well, Sam is a seasoned veteran who can play. The Clippers want to be a winning team and they could do just that by having him take over, Maggette is a great player and so is Brand but both are heavily underrated. Alongside Mobley Cassell would be a better fit for a winning team at this point but like someone mentioned because Livingston is so young and so good at 6'7" he's gonna be good and slowly but surely he'll work his way into the starting 5 somehow.

    if

If a choice between the two must be made then you have to pick Livingston. The kid has tons of potential as opposed to Cassell who is in the twilight of his career. Livingston was doing very well until he got injured last year and you have to expect even better this upcoming year.

You have to start Cassell no question. Regardless of is age he is a proven point guard in the league. Plus this adds a spark off of the bench with Shaun. And because of the age factor this situation will eventually run its course in favor of Livingston. i.e.: Magic Johnson and Norm Nixon. - Clutch
