Now that the Spurs got Finley & NVE... Does anyone think that we should get one more high impact player for the team? I know a lot of people are happy with what we have... but the Spurs are absolutely stacked now. The last thing I would like to see is Finley lighting it up for the Spurs against the Rockets. Spurs get Finley
I am absoulely shocked at this. I was certain hed be heading for miami but i guess i was wrong. The question of us beating spurs the spurs for division title might have be solved. Finley will be benched though but they will be hard to beat
hey Rockets fans no matter who the Spurs get we know our team can pull through it with who we have right now....if we got someone else to help us put up points while playing ample defense we would be right on par with the toughest of the tough.... CMON FANS OUR ROCKETS CAN DO THIS!!!!
we have no money to get another high-class player, and no one major will be given to us in return for players such as ward, moochie or baker...however, all the new additions do for the spurs is take minutes from parker/barry/ and ginobili...they added to a position that didnt really need change...they're deep just like we're deep...let the games begin
funny thing is.. I guess a consolation for me is... knowing that Mark Cuban is probably real pissed off right about now! hahahaha He couldn't get another player for him... then now he is in the same damn division. I feel it's going to be a VERY competitive season coming up for the Southwest conf. I really feel that the Rockets match up well this year with the Spurs.
I think we match up well with the spurs from a week ago. But with their new additions they are over the top. One thing that is true is that Finley and Nick will take mins away from other players. Our bench will consist of Mutombo... Stro/Juwon (depends i guess)... James... Wesley... Ward... Bowen... Head...... did I miss anyone out? Well the spurs have something like Nazr... Horry... Barry... Finley... Nick.. Udrih... um dunno this team aswell as the rockets obviously. It seems our bench isn't much worse. But when you look at the Spurs starting lineup, they are complete. They have no problems with their PG, and they have enough players who can play the SF position while we don't. We have the tools to beat the Spurs but they will probably come out on top in a close fight.
Christ, the Spurs are loaded..But I'm confident our chemistry and heart will be enough to compete with their talent
Yea the spurs are loaded. We aren't far away but I couldn't imagine us evening the series next.. maybe it will be 3-1 in the reg season.
i dont remember but i recall finley saying something about he has to start (no im not confusing him with sam cassell) if he plays the 2 will they bench ginobili or bench bowen for 3 or will he just have to adjust to the bench
regardless if the spurs get finley and nve.. I think Houston matches up well with them. Last season would have been a lot better if Houston didn't lose all those games to the baaaaaadddd teams while they were trying to figure out the system. They started winning when JVG went to Tmac as the primary goto guy instead of Yao. They did good against the top teams in the west. Hopefully the injury bug doesn't happen this year because I think Houston could be a sleeper team since everyone has their eyes focused on San Antonio. Now that we had a year for Tmac and the rest of the team to gel.. we are going to tear it up. Keep in mind that Yao was the only starting player from the year before Tmac got here.. which makes it even more amazing. I really hope DA and Stro are the final pieces to the puzzle... just as Horry and Cassell (well Kenny and Elie too) were during the championship seasons. Another thing to keep in mind is that San Antonio didn't look invincible in the playoffs. Heck Seattle gave them troubles w/out a real center and Detroit took them to seven games... plus TD isn't getting any younger. I think the Rox got a taste of how good they could be... and now they taste blood... I also think TMac is just as tired of hearing the whole "he's never made it out of the first round" talk as the rest of us. I am so sick of hearing this all over the forums... Hopefully he can shut everyone up for good this year.

Was pretty convincing to me. Just the finals the Spurs had problems. NVE's clutch shooting will certainly help beat teams in closer games. Helps when you have two of the best clutch players ever on your bench. Finley will be needed when the Spurs go on scoring doughts which can happen. Only really against great defense though.
