It's something we like a lot, but nothing is finalized," Nuggets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe said</div> Denver Post I don't really think that the 3 point guard thing will work unless they plan on starting Watson and Miller together in the backcourt. I don't know even about that still. We just have to wait and see.
Would be a great signing. When he starts, he puts up great stats. As a starter, I think he put up somewhere around 12/3/6. Plus he is a good defender, and would help their 3 PT shot a little bit.
Denver dont need a PG, they need a SG in the worst way. Denver has had so many chances to land a quality SG this offseason and come up short. Cuttino Mobley, Michael Finley, and Latrell (altho he is still possible) were all there for the taking, but they missed out. They even screwed up the draft by taking Hodge over Garcia who was still on the board. The Nuggets had one glaring weakness last year, and it was the SG spot. Voshon, if healthy, is part of the solution, but not all of it. Denver has the capability of being an upper echelon team, but I'm disappointed with their offseason thus far.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2148993 its a done deal... nice day for Denver..sign watson AND re-sign Buckner and Johnson...
Watson and Dre in the backcourt is better than Dre and Voshon in the backcourt. None the less, Watson is a very good player, and the signing is nice, but you have to wonder how they figure to give split minutes fairly to Andre and the Earl's. I believe it was C.K. a few months back that was told by a Denver scout that Andre Miller was on the block or something about the Nuggets exploring to trade him, so it's possible that he's the odd man out and will be dealt. Possible Starting Backcourts: Boykins and Miller Watson and Miller Miller and Sprewell Miller and Hodge Miller and Buckner Miller and Lenard I highly doubt that they will start one of the last 3 backcourts, but anything's possible.
The Nuggets are a DEEP team. PG - Andre Miller SG - Voshon Lenard SF - Carmelo Anthony PF - Kenyon Martin C - Marcus Camby Bench: Boykins, Watson, Nene, Bucker, Johnson, Hodge, Najera, Elson, and Kleiza. Denver is going to be very dangerous. They are still one more legit SG away from being championship contenders.
Miller or Boykins are going to get traded. There is no point signing Watson while you have two good enough point guards. No point at all. More so when the Nuggets main need is at shooting guard. Would of made more sense signing Sprewell which looks gone now.
I don't think one of them will get traded. Maybe Watson and Miller will start, with Boykins still being the 6th man. Either way, Denver is stacked.
