He's is the one guy who I thought would have many teams lining up to sign him. Great rebounder, energy guy who can defend.

I know he is restricted but there have been no reports that the Sonics would match any offer.

It's not like the Radmanovic situation where he wants more than he is worth.

Actually I believe your off. Everything ive heard is that his agent is requesting quite a bit of money and Seattle has let the word out that they are willing to match offers to their restricted free agents. He will prob have to get an offer of atleast 3-4 million a season for Seattle to not offer. And it doenst look like hes getting that.

From what I have heard, his agent wants $5 mill a year, which has obviously put teams off.

No, he does not have the same agent as Rad. Rad's agent is Thurston Howell the 3rd who thinks his pompous. arrogant attitude with bulldoze the management into paying Vlade an inflated contract that would make the Vin Baker signing look like a bargain. Pul-leeze!

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The contract signed this week by Timberwolves second-round draft pick Bracey Wright is only partially guaranteed for this season. The Wolves still have their eyes on restricted Seattle free agent Reggie Evans but haven't made an offer. ... Among the free agents the Wolves might bring to camp are Casey Jacobson, who was with New Orleans last year, and Jason Kapono, who was with Charlotte last season. Wolves coach Dwane Casey said he was very impressed with the physical condition of Michael Olowokandi when the team worked out in Las Vegas. "Olowokandi is a player on the last year of his contract who could have a big year," Casey said. The Wolves open training camp Oct. 4 at Target Center.</div>

    This means...uh...uh...um...nothing.source

Would these teams be able to work out a sign and trade? The TWolves are actively shopping Olowokandi and the Sonics could use him as a replacement to Jerome James.

I've heard the Wolves have had an interest in Evans for the last month.

Not super keen on Olowokandi, although he is a big body and IIRC in the last year of his deal. We'd need to include something else to make it work though, unless they are planning on paying Reggie big bucks.

Kandi buys Petro and Swift another season, and his expiring contract opens the door for signing a player over the summer. I realize Reggie Evans has not received any offers yet, and few teams have the money to overpay for his services. However, if it becomes a sign and trade scenario and the TWolves are the main player involved, why not get something instead of losing Evans for nothing?

Are you implying that Kandi is worth something? I would rather trade RE for a sack of balls than that sack of feces.[IMG]

That being said, I am one of the few that still think Reggie should be our starting PF. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Odde, the Wolves HAD their eye on Evans..... until Casey, who knows Evans from the Sonics, informed management that NO, he is not related to Ike Austin.

Ooooh! That was cold, but I couldn't help but go there.

In actuality, I believe the Sonics are waiting for someone to make Evans an offer and then match it, if it is plausable, but no one seems interested. That is good for us, I imagine. Perhaps it will go down to the last day of the deadline. I feel kinda bad for Evans. It shows you that scouts and management in the NBA look right to PPG first and foremost. We know his defense/rebounding is of high caliber. Please don't forward this post to any agents of other teams, then the secret would be revealed.

Feel free to quote me, but, try to refrain from quoting somebody i quoted and passing it off as me. That's just bad quoting.

I would not have made the quote to begin with if it were not a Minneapolis paper reporting it. That in itself makes it worth noting. Well, that and because it was only a couple days ago.

Definately don't want anything to do with Olowokancer. If he was any good at all, the Wolves would be attempting to keep him - the MLE isn't much to pay for a solid center - and yet they are still trying to move him.

He's basically JJ except he somehow feels he's entitled to touches because he was the #1 overall pick in a former life. The only thing remotely intriguing about it is that its a contract year for him and he probably is going to play hard for at least the second half of the year. At the end of the day, if you still look like garbage after playing next to Garnett...

Odde, my whole post had nothing to do with the quote and everything to do with comparing Reggie Evans large ears to those of Ike Austin. You know... to make people laugh. I'm a joker, hence the nickname "SonicComic". Sorry if it came out as a challange or claim that someone was "inacurate".

    I get it. It's funny.

You had my name on the quote, and even addressed me. So all I am saying is it should look something like this

See? Then you aren't misquoting me, or replying to something I didn't say. In this case it is harmless, I just don't like being misquoted. I am NOT calling you out. I am NOT trying to argue with you. I appreciate the humor. Keep it up.

the Sonics are playing this smart by just waiting for offers to come and then choosing to match...that way they dont overpay for rad or evans...

yeah...I think radman has already got an offer that will over pay him. He should be happy that the sonics have offered him so much. Evans...i really dont like the guy. Sure he brings energy and gets boards like crazy...but...he's gotta make wide open lay ups! that and if he improves his free throw shooting....then he'd be worth a real offer.
