Fiction...being as bogged down as they are at the backcourt spots by veterans, it'll probably either Stackhouse (whom has more left in the tank than Christie, any day) or even Marquis Daniels, the youngster. Christie is not as valuable a player as many think him to be anymore, and should be regarded as such. He was once an intense competitor on the defensive end of the floor, but he doesn't have as much spring as he once did. His offensive game as always left something to be desired, and for the price, they can stand to sit him for long stretches. Of course, the situation will be entirely up to Avery Johnson, who seems to have a different eye for players than many of us lowly fans, so we'll see what happens. Fact or Fiction - Erick Dampier's production will again level off in the second year of his new deal.
At 30 years old, I think Dampier still has some good years in him, maybe he`ll gain some more spotlight now that Bradley is gone and be the lead center of the Mavs. Fact or Fiction- Should of we kept trying to trade Finley away?
Fact, the best thing would have been to get him to a team in the Eastern Conference. Fact or Fiction - The Mavericks will get their sixth straight 50 win season this year
fact- I think they have a good enough team to do it f/f- Devin Harris will take Jason Terry's staring point guard duty
Fiction Avery said himself that Jason Terry is our starting PG, and basically will be for a while. And with his wonderous playoff outings, there's no reason to believe that he won't be starting. However, look for Devin to start getting consistent minutes and showcasing why he was the #5 pick Fact or Fiction: Dirk Nowitzki will be top 2 in MVP this upcoming season?
Fiction. I expect him to finish maybe 5 behind the likes of Shaq, Duncan, etc. Fact or Fiction- Mark Cuban is a cancer to the team.
Interesting question, but I will go with Fiction. Despite always being looking over the shoulders of the players and coaches, he supports the team financially and gives input to what happens. The only time he did something money-first, was waiving Finley (which saved him $51 million). He always rebuilt this franchise, and helped make it to the championship contender it is today -- he spoils his players (and no surprise, Dallas is always high among players list when they are asked where they want to go..Tmac, Shaq, Christie) Fact or Fiction: Jerry Stackhouse wins 6th man of the Year
Fiction - Now that Eddie Jones is in Memphis, either he or Mike Miller will be coming off the bench, and both have slightly better chances of winning it than Stackhouse. Stackhouse will definitely be in contention, but he has too much competition to declare it a definite fact. Fact or Fiction: Avery Johnson won't be with the team in 10 years.

Fiction - Dirk's by far my favorite and I believe he is the best foreign player ever, but I don't think he's <u>claimed</u> it yet. I think in order to make that claim, it pretty much has to be recognized by all competing nations and there are some who will say Sergei Belov, Oscar Schmidt and Arvydas Sabonis were the best, and since none of them played in the NBA in his prime, it's difficult to dispute. Let Dirk win MVP or Finals MVP and it would then be difficult to argue against the possibility. Also, Hakeem Olajuwan is the most NBA-proven foreign player (whom I can recall). F/F - Avery Johnson is a better coach for the Mavs than Don Nelson was?
Fact. Johnson has been able to incorporate defense into the Mavs lineup, and with the addition of Christie to already solid defenders like Howard, Harris and Dampier, the Mavericks should be much improved on defense. F/F: The Mavericks will finish in the top 4 in the West.

He should. From what I`ve seen from him he looks like a good hustler and that`s what Dallas likes. Him and Pavel may have some fight for time though. Diop will be significant for the Mavs. Fact or Fiction?
Depends on what you mean for significant, I will say fact as I believe he will be a decent backup and help give Dampier more rest. Fact or Fiction -- Keith Van Horn is traded by January
Fact. His huge, expiring contract is a very nice bait to pick up some key role players down the stretch. f/f: Josh Howard will establish himself as the number 2 option behind Dirk by the playoffs
