I think he shouldn't be starting right at the beggining of the season cause he needs to adapt to the NBA gamestyle. So how long will we have to wait to see him start?
It will all depend on how good he is. If he doesn't outperform Alston in training camp, the team would definitely start Alston because Sam will definitely want to put out the lineup that can win games. Calderon is still unproven up to this point but I'm sure that he'll get his fair share of minutes.
well knowing babcock's ability to find talent, i say he won't play any significant minutes in the league.

Ive heard from MANY sources that Calderon is the 2nd best guard in Europe after that dude that the Pacers signed(cant remember his long name). Im quite sure that Alston will start over Calderon at the start of the season but Calderon will have his share of minutes this season. After all he is the 2nd PG and i really dont think that Alston is going to play 48mins.
I honestly think if Caledron can play good and out-perform Alston he will be starting. As for minutes i think Caledrom should get quite a lot of minutes because Mitchell has always spoken highly of this guy and how much he liked him while observing him in Euro-Games

Larry Brown called Calderon "the best Euro PG I've ever seen".
