I think he shouldn't be starting right at the beggining of the season cause he needs to adapt to the NBA gamestyle. So how long will we have to wait to see him start?

It will all depend on how good he is. If he doesn't outperform Alston in training camp, the team would definitely start Alston because Sam will definitely want to put out the lineup that can win games. Calderon is still unproven up to this point but I'm sure that he'll get his fair share of minutes.

I really think that those days are over for Babs, yes Araujo wasnt a great desicions(although i havent given up on him yet). Ive heard from MANY sources that Calderon is the 2nd best guard in Europe after that dude that the Pacers signed(cant remember his long name).

Im quite sure that Alston will start over Calderon at the start of the season but Calderon will have his share of minutes this season. After all he is the 2nd PG and i really dont think that Alston is going to play 48mins.

I honestly think if Caledron can play good and out-perform Alston he will be starting. As for minutes i think Caledrom should get quite a lot of minutes because Mitchell has always spoken highly of this guy and how much he liked him while observing him in Euro-Games

the pacers signed Sarunas Jasikevicius dont even know how they compare the players with one another over in europe dont think they play against one another as often as players over here do, either way lets hope calderon turns out to be good [IMG]

no need to out-perform...if calderon can pass first and defend second then I predict he will be starting as early as the quarter season mark. the real test for calderon is not his passing abilities those come easy for him the real test will be his ability to defend nba calibre opposing point guards he has never done that before and I dont care how quick of a study calderon is,or how nba ready he is, that will take time and there is a steep learning curve and we need to be patient at the very least quarter of a season goes by before he starts anything before that will be mind boggling [IMG]

Actually, he played against the likes of Allen Iverson and Stephon Marbury in the Athens Olympics. Larry Brown called Calderon "the best Euro PG I've ever seen".
