Culpepper got an additional $2 Million in salary this year. Although his contract is valued at $110 million, most of that value is in escalators and performance rewards that most deem rather unrealistic (according to some).

Culpepper does want to re-work his contract to get more guaranteed money than he has right now and did sit out a couple of practices, but only after they were excused by the team. The Vikings owner, Zygi Wilf, agreed to pay an additional $2 million this year as a temporary fix to avoid any major contract disputes.

Hats off to Culpepper and Wilf as well as Culpepper's agent who did most of this without any teammate knowing. Tice didn't even know about the dispute until a few days ago. Its good to see professionalism make its way into some contract negotations.

Now if only Erasmus James would take a cue...

i dont know why these rookies dont get in camp. By the time of the regular season they will finally sign and have not much chance of starting. Its like 10 rookies that havent signed yet and the preseason already started

Why does Culpepper need guaranteed dough? If the Vikings signed the contract to pay him a certain amount of money then why would Culpepper not get it? Are you saying that the Vikings might not "honor" the contract? That can't be, can it?

Collins should get more money because he's throwing to Moss? [IMG]

Culpepper of all QB's deserves a better contract than he has...

All Culpepper has been to the Vikings is simply magnificent. He has done his talking on the field not off the field. He is the 2nd best QB in football today and deserved it. I have no problem on what the Vikings did.

Culpepper got overshadowed by Manning last year. Culpepper had 39 TDs and like 4700 yards passing. and plus Culpeper can scramble good.

Vikings are my 2nd favorite team and Culpepper is the best QB. Watch it's gonna be Mannings numbers that decline not Daunte's. I hope.
