<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Chicago Tribune - Eddy Curry's agent has asked the Bulls to consider a sign-and-trade for the restricted free agent, a source familiar with the negotiations confirmed Tuesday. Curry's agent, Leon Rose, did not respond to a message, and Bulls general manager John Paxson declined to confirm or deny the request. But Paxson acknowledged the parties are nowhere near reaching an agreement. "We're not anywhere close to having anything done," Paxson said. The workings of a sign-and-trade tend to be complicated. Last summer, after 34 days of negotiations, the Bulls and Knicks agreed to a sign-and-trade that sent Jamal Crawford to New York. The upside was the financial relief the Bulls received in salary-cap room.</div> Source
The bulls need to give curry at least 2-3 garaunteed years. hes is worth the risk and if we lose him, i know we will pay. He is one of the top,, young centers in the league. If he can add a few more rebounds a night and play with some intensity..............starting center for the east all stars
I was going to post this article, but had school at seven, and it did not become available until 8:30. Thanks for posting it Swish I feel as though the Bulls are trying to be cautious with their money, but really don?t have much of a choice in this situation unless they get him to play for the mid level offer, and sign him to a extension during the season. He is what makes the offense run and gives us the ability to open up the court. I do not think we can be nearly as successful without him unless we get some major pieces in a trade.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Noir:</div><div class="quote_post">A sign and trade with who? His agent is just trying to put some pressure on the Bulls...</div> Good point, although I doubt Paxson feels any pressure to get a deal done. If a team was serious about wanting Curry, they would have signed him to an offer sheet by now. Pulling off a sign and trade is going to be difficult because of the BYC. I have a feeling Curry will end up signing the 1 year extension and then becoming an unrestricted free agent next summer. With Antonio Davis contract set to expire next summer, the Bulls will have plenty of money to spend on a big name free agent. They are one of the few teams who will be below the cap to sign offer a large deal. Maybe they target Nene, since he is going to explore his options and not extend his contract with the Nuggets.
Curry has no choice in the matter. If there is no demand he is stuck with us for 1 more year guaranteed. I hope he comes back but if he doesnt we will be okay. We've got plenty of big bodies to throw around. This move doesnt put any pressure on chicago. Unitil he is offered a position on another team our last year still stands. we will get that year and if curry performs well he stays, if not whomever can have him. Go BULLS!
Regardless, the Bulls are still a pretty decent playoff contending team. I'm sure Ben Gordon will be even better this year and Kirk Hinrich just keeps getting better and better. Othella Harrington really played well for the Bulls when Curry was out for the playoffs. How unhealthy is Curry anyways?
Curry has been given the permission to play again. His heart condition, as far as I know, is no longer a problem. I'm sure if the doctors were worried about it, they'd not have given him the permission to play again. At this point, the main thing I'd be worried about with Curry is his conditioning. He's likely to have packed on some pounds and probably isn't going to be in good condition come training camp and pre season. However, when you had to sit out as long as he had to, that's bound to happen, so it's not like it was in his control.

Most of them expressed reservations and wanted more tests before giving their final opinion...
