<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MR BRYANT:</div><div class="quote_post"> C:That they have a official dunk contest and Kobe,Vince,T-Mac,J.R. Smith,Josh Smith,Hakim Warrick, and Gerald Green are participants...for laughs(Chris "birdman"Anderson),and don't even mention Lebron because {dare i say it} his dunks are fast breakpower dunks i.e WACK .</div> Why is J-Rich never considered one of the best dunkers in the league? He has done dunks that no one else has ever done, not VC, not Josh Smith, not Michael Jordan. I just want to know from another fans standpoint why he isnt considered as good as Kobe or Vince Carter (who would get slaughtered by Jason these days). Back on topic, I also want to see what Kobe looks like. I dont think he needed to get any stronger unless he plans on playing some SF, which is a bad idea. That would be hilarious if Kobe got paired up with Shaq, even if they dont i will be tuning in to this game.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't think either Shaq or Kobe would put their personal feud ahead of a great cause.</div> Well.........*bites tongue* On the serious tip, Shaq is in demand more than any other NBA player. These guys have a ridiculous number of committments during the offseason. It's not like they chose Kobe over Shaq, or Shaq didn't want to be in the game, he's probably committed. I didn't see Tim Duncan's name on the list either, so lets not overinterpret why Shaq isn't in the game guys.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Kobe Bryant has pledged $100,000 toward Hurricane Katrina relief and is traveling to Houston to play in a hurricane relief basketball game Sunday. He said Friday he is doing only what should be done. "It's not about over-dramatizing what everybody's been doing as far as making contributions, whether monetarily or physically going down there or sending trucks," Bryant said. "This is something that really shouldn't even be a big deal. It's something that we should just do, period." Clippers guards Cuttino Mobley and Sam Cassell, who have longtime ties to Houston, also are among 26 players scheduled to take part in the game. LeBron James and Kevin Garnett also will participate. Each player will make a donation of at least $10,000 and hand out supplies at some of the 97 shelters for hurricane evacuees set up in Houston. The game is at 3 p.m. Sunday and will televised on TNT delayed at 11 p.m. "When you see the tragedy and devastation that takes place out there," Bryant said, "you have almost to be not human not to feel some type of compassion or warmth in your heart for these people." After the Sept.11 attacks, Bryant wrote a first-person perspective for "Newsweek" and wore a "God Bless America" band over his right wrist at every Lakers game. TNT's Kenny Smith said he called Bryant's agent, Rob Pelinka, to ask Bryant to take part in this charity event and heard back "in less than three minutes." Bryant said he is looking forward to helping evacuees. "What we'll try to do is to let them know that they're cared for," he said. "Especially when you listen to them talk on TV or interviews right there in the moment, it seems that they have a feeling, on top of all the emotional devastation that they have, that they're on an island by themselves in a sense. We as Americans rally around our people when there's devastation. And us going down there is part of that."</div> Source
Less than 3 minutes. I really appriciate how Kobe is taking an active role in being positive about things. Instead of just "ACCEPTING" the bad boy image he recieved from the Media and Public. +1 for him
