More players would likely be involved with the deal, as Boston's roster is full; cuts would have to be made or additional players sent away.

I don't believe this report. I'll hold off comments until I hear it from somewhere else.

I also think this is unlikely. If it is true though then Boston is loaded with good PGs and great young bigs.

Pierce is an asset to the Celts...no way they're going to want to trade, especially this early - season hasn't even started yet. He's practically the leader of that team. Who will step up? Antoine Walker...I'm sorry, but he looks like a mongoloid...not a Mongolian...but a mongoloid, hehe. The Celts already have some talented PG's and Al Jefferson is much better than Nene ever will. Celts say no thanks to this false rumour.

This trade abosolutely makes no sense for both teams. The Cs would now have at least 5-6 pgs and a cancer (Nene) on the squad. This does not make our team better. What would Denver do with Paul Pierce? Paul, Carmelo and K Mart fighting over the ball. I think not. I like Andre Miller but he has a bad rep with the teams he has PLayed on. Being a me first player, he has had run ins with various teamates including Carmelo and Leonard. This is something you do not want in a PG. Nene has been in numerous fights with Nuggets over the years. Kmart had to come down on Nene in order for him to chill out. I dont mind trading Paul but not for these two.

I agree, this is a trade that doesnt make sense, there is no point of trading pierce just for the sake of trading him, he is a superstar and the leader of our team, I hope that this is only a rumor, and that there is absolutely no substance to it at all...
by the way, Sir Desmond, wats with the Abraham pic in the North Melbourne top all about? r u aussie too? hehe

How did Pierce's trade value drop so far? He went from being traded for Lamar Odom, to being traded for Andre Miller and Nene? I don't buy it, the last position the Celtics need help at is PG. They have 5 on their roster as it is, not including Miller. I do like Nene, but he's in the final year of his contract, and there's no guarantee he re-signs with the team. Far too, risky for the Celtics to trade their best player for.

I don't believe this deal either. The Celtics could do much better than a 2 guard in a PG's body coming up on 30 and an underachieving PF who averages 8 rebounds per 48 minutes. Bad trade for the Celtics if this turns out to be true.

This is still just a rumour...

I like the trade both ways to some degree, more for Denver, and less for Boston. Boston really get's young, and I mean young. They don't really need to rebuild, but it seems like Pierce has been disgruntled, and I think this is the way you handle it when it happens except for the fact that you expect more for Pierce.

Nene and Al Jefferson in the frontcourt, that's going to be beastly. I've always been a big fan of Nene, so I like that he'll get to start again. If it happens, I think this is the big thing, b/c Nene can be very good, and was already pretty good before.

Andre Miller makes them more stable at PG, I think, since Marcus Banks is still iffy, and Delonte West isn't a real PG, but if it's a youth movement, they don't need a PG especially since they also signed Dickau, Boston does get worse as a team, but their's positives, mainly getting Nene, outside of that, it's kinda stupid lol.

For Denver, well, they just gave themselves a little nudge in the West with this happening. They now have 2 "stars", a nice starting lineup, and decent depth. They need another big though, all they have right now is Elson.

This is garbage, as usual, we see more nonsense being posted from insidehoops again. Them and realgm should just team up and call themselves the Peter Gammons all stars.

I'm tired of Pierce rumors getting bandied about. Let him play with the youngsters, pay his salary and let's get on with life. This is nonsense.

Celtics brass have denied the rumor on WEEI and other places.

Now we can add Insidehoops in with Hoopsworld and RealGM. [IMG]

Not the Peter Gammons all stars, the Peter Vecsey all stars. You should know that, no points awarded.
That trade doesn't make a lick of sense. Nene was Nono in the playoffs, and his numbers are not all that impressive. He does seem like he has some ability, but we already have tons of that floating around, and almost nobody is a punk. Andre Miller is a great complimentary PG to some guys that can make their own shots. Without Pierce there is no guarantee that anybody will be getting the looks they need. I call this horsepuckey.

    Touche.

At least Peter Vescey (whom I have no respect for, don't get me wrong) never named himself as a clubhouse source.

Although that's probably just because Peter Vecsey isn't allowed in clubhouses, no one in the NBA likes him.
