<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Before any team is willing to commit to a contract anywhere near what other free-agent big men have signed, Curry is going to have to prove he's healthy -- and the only way he can do that is by playing a full season without a reoccurrence of the irregular heartbeat he experienced before a game March 30.

While he was undergoing a battery of medical exams in April, May and June, Curry believed he would receive a clean bill of health and his free-agent status would be unaffected. Instead, the ambiguity of the results created nearly as many questions as it answered.

Although he was cleared to play in late June by Los Angeles-based cardiologist David Cannom, other cardiologists weren't willing to make a definitive diagnosis.

Whether it proves to be benign or serious, the timing of his arrhythmia couldn't have been worse. If it happened a year earlier, he would have had ample time to prove he was healthy. If it happened a year later, he likely would have already signed a contract similar to the six-year, $63 million deal teammate Tyson Chandler agreed to last week.

''I feel bad for Eddy,'' Paxson said. ''He's a great kid [and] he doesn't deserve for this to happen to him. But it's reality to him and it's reality to us.''

Paxson has tried his best to be fair with Curry, but he has to do what's best for the organization -- not what's best for Curry.

    It's nothing personal; it's just business.</div>

The Bulls should approch him with a offer like if he manages to stay healthy for the first half of next season he will receive a long term deal after the all star break in the form of a extension. I don?t know if that is possible, but that would make everyone happy. In reality no team will sign a player, even though he has shown he can anchor a team in the low post, if there are health risks attached. No one wants to be the next Orlando Magic with a player like Hill or a situation like that of Jamal Mashburns a while back. Due to the fact that all contracts are guaranteed in the NBA the risk for the teams makes them tentative to make an offer to anyone with the slightest history of health problems. I think Curry deserves a opportunity though if Zo at the age of 30 something got a big deal with the Nets a few years ago why can?t Curry 23 who has been medically cleared not get his money?

I fully understand the Bulls situation right now. They don't want to go and invest millions in to a player who may not be able to play out his contract because of health complications. Cause think about it, if you were Bull management, would you want to put millions of dollars into a player, only to have the same complication arise again and this time, force the player into early retirement? I wouldn't want to take that risk, so I can understand why the Bulls won't offer him a large amount of money nor an extensive contract at this point. Because, quite frankly, it could become a huge waste of money if the heart problem occurs again next season.

^^^Great sig Knicks Analyst has skills

But u are right the Bulls dont have any preassure so why rush. The only guy who is in a hurry is curry. And the bulls are young with potential. Chandler may become our starting center If curry doesnt get it together. I believe in our young team And I'm Honestly thinking championship in 2-3 years. With or without Curry. But we will see how this will all pan out.

I pray Curry doesnt sit out this season.

GO BULLS</div>Considering Curry is under contract with Chicago and he has been medically cleared to play, I highly doubt he sits out. If he doesn't get resigned, he can consider it his contract year and try to impress people. If he sits out, he won't improve his stock at all and people will indefinitely question his attitude towards the game if they were to think of signing him next offseason.

Curry will play for sure in the up coming season. I think Paxson's being reluctant because what if his heart does become a problem during a game and something as unfortunate happens to Eddie as it did in Orlando? People will point their fingers at Paxson and say 'why did you let him play, this is your fault'. Most likely Eddie will play and he'll be fine. Since the Bulls are right now being reluctant to sign him its showing that they're concerned for their players, which I'm sure they are. Eddie will play, he'll start, and tear it up out there.

You?re reading too much into it. It has nothing really to do with something bad happening to Curry in a game he has already been medically cleared to play if anything ever happened it would be his doctors fault not Paxson?s. The problem is we have no insurance on weather this problem may reappear in a couple seasons like Zo?s kidney problem, and force him into early retirement or injury prone seasons. Paxson is trying to be wise with the franchises money, not necessarily because he is concerned about Curry, but rather concerned about the teams long term future, as well as his own as general manager.
