Quote:

Is the four spot still the class of the league? Well, maybe, but it isn't as certain as it was just two years ago. Chris Webber has gone from All-NBA caliber with the Sacramento Kings to being traded to Philadelphia and still struggling from micro-fracture surgery. Pau Gasol got a maximum contract and was the centerpiece in Memphis ? but it looks as if his game has maxed out long before his contract will reach its apex. Then again, it wouldn't be a stretch to look at Chris Bosh as a superstar in the making; the Toronto Raptors sure need that to happen. The same can be said for the top two picks in the 2004 draft and their struggling teams ? Dwight Howard in Orlando and Charlotte's Emeka Okafor ? as their two teams battle to reach a state respectability. But more than anything else, you look at Duncan, Garnett and Nowitzki and see such an uncommon blend of talent, size and leadership ? and it leaves you thinking perhaps the best players in the NBA still play at the big forward and make teams go.
http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/4848202 TD best power forward ever no doubt.

Quoting thedude9990:

wow how did martin and gasol not make that list, they should be over webber and randolph
I might put Gasol over Rasheed Wallace, Antwan Jamison, Chris Webber (going on his end-of-the-season play), and Chris Bosh (*flamsuit on for the inevitable biased Raptors fan to attack me thinking that Chris Bosh is the future of the NBA 4 spot). I don't think I'd put Gasol over Randolph though, nor do I thinkthink I'd put Martin over any of those guys you named. Randolph had a down season, but he'll be back this year. He's still the same 20/10 Zach he was a season before. If I had to rank them, it'd probably look something like - 1) Tim Duncan 2) Kevin Garnett 3) Dirk Nowitzki 4) Jermaine O'Neal 5) Elton Brand 6) Pau Gasol 6) Zach Randolph (Tie, can't pick between them) 8) Chris Webber 9) Chris Bosh 10) Rasheed Wallace 11) Dwight Howard 12) Antwan Jamison 13) Emeka Okafor 14) Kenyon Martin 15) Shareef Abdur-Rahim
KMart's way overrated that's why he's not up there, but I agree with you that Pau should've been on that list over Webber. Cwebb's on a sharp decline and is turning into a very inconsistent player.
1.Tim Duncan 2.Kg 3.Dirk 4.J.O 5.Rasheed 6.Elton Brand 7.Pau Gasol 8.C-Webb 9.Zach Randolph 10.K-mart

Anyway, if I had to rank them myself, I would go: 1) Tim Duncan 2) Kevin Garnett 3) Dirk Nowitzki 4) Jermaine O'Neal 5) Elton Brand 6) Rasheed Wallace 7) Zach Randolph 8) Chris Bosh 9) Pau Gasol 10) Chris Webber
Sheed is too high for my liking. For a guy with a career high RPG average of 8.1 and career average of 6.9, who doesn't play very smart offensively, he's way too high. I guess Amare is being counted as Center. Dwight Howard will probably be on the Center list next year as well. With the top 5 staying the same, it goes like this for me: 6. Zach Randolph 7. Pau Gasol 8. Chris Bosh 8. Chris Webber 10. Antawn Jamison 10. Emeka Okafor
I used to think that Tim Duncan was better than Garnett, but now I am having a change of heart. Duncan seems a lot more passive then Garnett is and at times he kind of just takes himself out of the game. Not to mention pound for pound, KG is a better all around player. I think KG has a better offensive arsenal, they are about the same on defense, KG can play point guard and that?s the kind of versatility Duncan does not have, both can set up other players and make players but Garnett is definitely the better playmaker. 1- Kevin Garnett 2- Tim Duncan 3- Jermaine O'Neal 4- Dirk Nowitski 5- Elton Brand 6- Rasheed Wallace 7- Pau Gasol 8- Zach Randolph 9- Chris Webber 10- Chris Bosh
if u count all the leadership qualities td is better but your right kG is better than duncan but duncan plays smarter bball not saying KG doesnt but just a little more TD KG joneal dirk elton brand zach randolph kenyon martin chris webber chirs bosh pau gasol
The thing about Gasol is that everyone forgets about how the Grizzlies lineup has been ran, and they just look at his numbers and say, meh, that's only decent. I'm saying that because I do the same thing sometimes, and I have to remind myself he's only playing a little above 30 MPG, and it's not that he can't play 37+ MPG, he's not Tractor Traylor with no stamina, it's that the team was being ran like that. If he goes up to that range in MPG, he will average 20+ PPG 8-9+ RPG, and 2+ BPG. PER 37 mins: 01-02: 17.7 PPG | 9.0 RPG | 2.7 APG | 2.08 BPG 02-03: 19.5 PPG | 9.0 RPG | 2.9 APG | 1.85 BPG 03-04: 20.8 PPG | 9.0 RPG | 2.9 APG | 1.99 BPG 04-05: 20.6 PPG | 8.4 RPG | 2.8 PPG | 1.92 BPG A lot of people neglect/forget about his minutes when talking about Gasol. I'd go: 1) Tim Duncan 2) Kevin Garnett 3) Dirk Nowitzki 4) Jermaine O'neal 5) Elton Brand 6) Rasheed Wallace 7) Pau Gasol 8) Zach Randolph 9) Chris Bosh 10) Emeka Okafor 11) Shareef Abdur Rahim 12) Dwight Howard 13) Antawn Jamison 14) Chris Webber 15) Kenyon Matin/Carlos Boozer Rasheed has a slight edge on Bosh, he's better right now because he's still as good offensively [people underatte his offense because he's on the Pistons, but he's still a 17-19 PPG guy], and much much better on defense, but Bosh is a better rebounder. Bosh can probably surpass Sheed this season. Webber, I don't know, he's a defensive liability, but still averaged 19-9-5 last season as a whole. I'd take Bosh over Randoph and Gasol if you consider age and potential, because I think he can be better, but Randolph has shown he's a 20-10 guy, and Gasol right now better offensively, maybe a little lesser on the boards, but a better shot blocker. Neither of the 3 are a good defender, but Bosh has the most potential in that area. I don't know why Shareef is being underatted so much, it's not like he sucks, he was just playing out of position for a while. We're not talking about winning here, he can still put up 20-9-2 starting at PF.
look man........stats dont lie and personal opinions dont count Kevin Garnett is the BEST player in the game right now ....BY A LONG LONG LONG way 22 points...... 13.9 rebounds......... 5.7 assists.......50% fg...........80% FT IN 38 MINS PER GAME !!!!!!!!!
i love KG and definatly think he's the best, Tim Duncan i feel is just someone that people want to say is the best game and just say it, they never debate it. I look at kg's free throw percentage and that's so underrated, he's always nasty in efficiency rating, and brings it all to the table. KG is the heart of that Minnesota team, i have so much respect for him just for sticking w/ the team w/ the whole draft pick problem. It is definatly a close call, sheed is overrated, he is given way too much credit becuase of what detroit did last season. And i am not suprised at all that Kmart is not on the list he's so one dimensional. Personally i love shareef but you're talking about a guy who has just always been good on shitty teams, i know it's not all his fault but I just want to see him in one playoff game.
TD is the best because of what he has acomplished, 3 MVP''s, 3 championships.Guys like Vince and Garnett may be extremely talented but they shouldn't be considered at the very top because they haven't accomplisehed anything other then put up stats.

Tim Duncan is a better defender than Garnett, just because he solidifies his team's defense, and just makes it very difficult for opposing teams to get easy baskets. One of the main reasons why SA's defense is top 2. His is a selfless guy, he would probably mesh in with any team, and creates double teams to let his teammates score, just because Duncan wants to win. Duncan also has 3 Finals MVP, which is quite an acheivement. 1) Tim Duncan 2) Garnett 3) Dirk 4) Jermaine O'Neil 5) Elton Brand 6) Gasol 7) Rasheed 8) Bosh 9) Antawn Jameson 10) Zach Randolph
