To all the critics who thinks the 3pt shooting will hurt Miami:

    ECF
    Damon Jones 36% 8-22 3PT
    Eddie Jones 31% 9-29 3PT
    Rasual Butler 36% 7-19 3PT

    Last 2 Games of ECF:
    Damon Jones 1-4 3PT
    Eddie Jones 2-12 3PT
    Rasual Butler 2-6 3PT

    Two Things:
    1) Our 3pt threats sucked in the ECF
    2) When it mattered the most (last 2 games) our 3PT threats FAILED to get the job done

And honestly, while everybody writes it off as a negative, I have no problems seeing Jason Williams, James Posey, and Antoine Walker putting up those 3PTMs/3PT% that our best 3pt shooters did in the ECF.

i say you guys had an amazing offseason
you guys in my opinion are gauranteed in ECF again
unless something we dont know about happens
    like unexpected team chemistry problems
    injuries

    indiana would concern you guys
they have more talent and they are younger but are not as deep as you guys and shaq is gonna kill whoever they put at center

top 3 teams in east starting line up
    miami
    shaq
    walker
    posey
    wade
    jwill

    indiana
    foster
    joneal
    artest
    jackson
    sarunas

    detroit
    ben
    sheed
    prince
    hamilton
    billups

    u guys decide whos better

on paper, yes, the heat had a nice offseason...but it seemed as if riley just went out and got guys just for the sake of having big names...i truly think that their chemistry will be damaged, and I feel that their will be locker room issues...and let me just say, I would much rather let Walker and Williams chunk all those 3s than damon and eddie jones...williams has never been 35%+ on 3s for his career, and neither has walker...stan van gundy has quite a job ahead of him to try and mesh all these egos to play within a team concept...

^Agreed. I don`t know how a good chemistry will work with the Heat, and what the player relationships will turn out like. I like J-Will, but you never know when he could go off like on Wade, Shaq, or even SVG.

both jwill and toine havent ever shot 35%+ yes but did they ever have shaq to give them space? did anyone know about damon jones 3 point shooting capability before he landed in miami? i dont think so, lets not forget that shaq and wade gave damon most of his 3's by making the defense collapse on them and leave damon open

Sarunas over Tinsley? I think not. Either way when you say "choose" I'd say Indiana has a better lineup than Miami. They go deep and have much more defensive inclination compared to offensive balance.

I'm sorry to say this, but all of you who are doubting the Heat's chemistry don't know what your talking about. Do you really think Damon Jones is THAT good of a 3 point shooter? Put it this way, Shaq and Wade CREATE OPEN 3 point shots. How many 3 point shots do you think Jwill, Toine can hit out of 10 OPEN shots. I would say around 5-6. That's roughly 50-60%... now don't get me wrong I'm not saying that they are going to average 50% 3 point shooting in the season... but even shooters that don't have HIGH 3 point percentages in the NBA would prosper under Wade and ESPECIALLY SHAQ. The teams chemistry will be fine, Toine will be playing UNDER SHAQ and Wade, he won't get as many shots but will be WAY more efficient and he can't whine about it because he's playing under two of the best in the league. Jwill will finally become the TRUE PG that he COULD be... It's a fact. I hate the HEAT, I hope the Sixers win the championship this year even though it's next to impossible... but I really think the Heat will either win the Finals this year or come close...

Oh and if you want proof, check out Jones' 3 point shooting percentage when he's played OVER 40-50 games in a season.. it is NO WHERE near the percentage he got in MIA last season.

I think the loss of Damon Jones wasn't that big of a deal, because he was so one-dimensional. Damon's career 3pt FG% without Shaq is 36.7%, which is considerably better than Toine's 32.6 or J-Will's 31.5%, but Toine and J-Will shoot better in playoffs, J-Will hits 34.9% and Toine hits 36.1% of 3s.
