I was just wondering who is gonna go?! All benefits go towards Hurricane Katrina victims. Kenny was saying that Toyota center agreed to let them use the place for free. Kenny also said that every player that is involved must donate $10,000 and MUST donate their time and services. The players MUST help unload supply trucks and help pass out the supply to victims. This is a great way for the stars to help. The list of players attending is unreal! Here is a link to those of you who did not know about it...http://www.nba.com/community/smith_050907.html I got my tickets on Friday and Im drivin back to houston on Sunday for the game. I have class at 8 on MOnday mornin so i hope the players have a game worth the trip!!
Wow. I would go too if I were in the Houston area but since I'm not, I just have to hope that the sports channels in Toronto would broadcast the game, since I don't get TNT. Wasn't TMac scheduled to participate as well? Anyways, seeing Anderson and James would get the home crowd excited, and the return of Steve Francis would be a great draw as well. Have fun!
This is my first post on the site. There's no way I'd miss the game on Sunday. I'm hoping there will be other ways of helping or donating at the event. The game is about the Katrina victims first and good basketball second. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trip:</div><div class="quote_post">Wasn't TMac scheduled to participate as well?</div> I heard he may or may not play because of scheduling conflics, but he didn't want to commit oficially and not be able to show.
It's great you guys are supporting this event by showing up and contributing to the relief fund. Make sure you bring your digi-cams and share your experience with the rest of us. Even if T-Mac doesn't end up playing there will be some current and past Rockets in the game. Derek Anderson, Mike James, Steve Francis, and Cutino Mobley. Kudos to Kenny Smith, the Rockets Organization, and TNT for putting this event together in such short notice.
im coming i got tickets in the mid-rows the $300 dollar tickets gets u front row and you get to meet the players
I'm going too since I'm covering the game for the nba and rockets.com...I cant wait...that is one serious lineup that they're putting out there! Bron, Kobe, KG, Francis, Marbury...its gonna be insane, and they only had $10 and $15 tickets left on Friday so I know it'll be jam-packed!
haven't heard of vc in it. I hope by the time the summer is over they would have had one of these in every major city! That way everyone can be a part of it and everyone can see how great of a response this is to the victims!

I want to go so baaaaaaaaaaaaad!!! I found out too late. That's crazy. I think this is a way of showing the world that the NBA players aren't that bad after all. They have they're ways, but overrall they're human and have emotions like all of us. I'm still suprised that so many big names showed up, that's incredible! The Katrina victims deserve this with all they've been through, and the city of Houston is glad to give it to them. Damn!! I should have got my tickets earlier.
The game, expected to raise more than $1 million, will start at 5 p.m. EDT at the Toyota Center. It will air on TNT at 11 p.m. EDT.
OMG i just saw the dunk of the night and best plays and tmac was involved in all of them the dunk was sweet and he jacked up a three from half court. check it out on nba.com
