So he had a bad reputation in Washington as a talented player who does not enjoy playing the game, oversleeps for practices and what not, who cares? I care. Okay don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of Kwame Brown, but I think a trade is exactly what Kwame needed to knock some sense into him. A 7-footer, with unworldly athleticism, Brown has shown glimpses of absolute dominance the past couple of years but has generally disappeared when his team needed him the most. Some may still be not sold-out on the possibility of Brown becoming a consistent low-post presence. Especially considering Phil Jackson's lack of tolerance for those who do not put forth consistent effort and Kobe Bryant's mistrust of teammates on offense. But something tells me Kwame might have finally been humbled to a point where he was actually rattled enough to start making some changes in this work ethic and start realizing some of this great potential he possesses. Stay tuned?</div>

Kwame was on his way up before this last season because of injury. His other three years in the NBA have been good and his numbers steadily got better, and here with a better situation why dont you think he cant break out? I think he will breakout this year and be a great player.

In the past Kobe has been notorious for taking a Jordanesque approach with his teammates, when they mess up. You do the math.

I don't believe that Kwame will benefit from that, he didn't before.

Well Kobe understands that his teams future hinges on two things...Lamar Odom, and Kwame Brown. He knows Odom will bring it, he's not so sure about Kwame. Look for him to support Kwame and show him the ropes, not be hard on him like Jordan was. They also brought in Adbdul Jabaar to coach him, and with Phil on the sidelines Kwame should no exactly what his role is. Look for him to get better season by season

It's going to be easier for Kwame this year. I personally think Kwame will have a breakout year. In Washington he was pressured to be the man by the fans, the team, and Michael Jordon who is the second/third best NBA player ever to play the game. Kwame lost the pressure to be the man because he didn't prove it when he got there. Now people have forgoten about it and now he is on another team. It's kinda like a second chance. He'll do fine.

I'll tell you right now, Kobe has been in a very similar situation as Kwame. He came straight out of the league, that right there will help him in managing Kwame differently from Jordan. Michael didn't know what it was like coming straight from HS, he had college experience under his belt. Kobe, on the other hand, knows what it's like and is going to take Kwame under his wing, similar to how he took Caron under his wing, and install his faith and trust into Brown.

Exactly- Kobe had to prove himself to everybody to get where he is today, he knows what Kwames going through and will help him out. Jordan was The Man since he came into the League so he doesn't understand the pressure that comes with having to prove yourself to not only the fans, but your teamates as well.

i wouldnt say Jordan was The Man when he first came into the league, he was picked 3rd in the draft and chicago were looking to draft the guy ahead of him.He had to prove himself, every rookie does.Proving himself is what fueled his desire to be the best and to win.So i think Jordan might know a little bit more than kobe did about proving himself.kobe has said he wants to be the best player ever and definetly hasn't proved it, jordan did.

I think Phil Jackson may very well be the greatest thing ever to happen to Kwame Brown's career.
