But the bet here is if Skiles were forced to put a value on that leadership, it'd be far south of $14 million. Davis averaged career lows of 7.0 points and 5.9 rebounds last season.</div>

Though he is overpaid these days when he signed this contract I did not see him as largely overpaid. He was at the time the second best player on the Toronto Raptors outside of Vince Carter, and really helped keep that team together during the first couple seasons when Vince got injured. With age his contract has begun to look like a bad one, but with it expiring this off-season hopefully we can resign him for less money. Especially considering his love for the city.

I see what you are saying because when he was with the raptors noone viewed it as a bad signing. The raptors were scared of losing him to the magic cause he threatened that he wanted to pair up w/ tmac again. However, the day he signed the contract his career went into the toilet and right now you have to say that he never lived up to that contract. Times have changed though and contracts like his would not have been offered at this time, teams have slightly wisened up as to how quickly players drop out of their primes

His contract was good when he signed it, but he became more overpaid two seasons later. He definitely earned it when he singlehandedly brought the Raptors into the playoffs when Carter was gone the whole year.
