<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Miami ? Not only does Heat center Shaquille O'Neal think the team will be fine after a major overhaul of the roster, he predicted the Heat would make the NBA Finals after just missing last season.

"A lot of people probably are going to be worried that we have to start all over, but I have been here for a couple weeks now working with the guys, I know most of the guys, [and] it won't be a problem at all," O'Neal said Saturday at AmericanAirlines Arena, where he was collecting donations for victims of Hurricane Katrina

"We are all on the same page. We have to get farther than we did last year, and we will."

"I guarantee you Antoine is going to hit more threes, I guarantee you Jason is going to hit more threes and he is going to get more assists," O'Neal said. "`Flash' [guard Dwyane Wade] is going to get more points. Everybody is going to get more open looks."

"We would love to have Gary down here," O'Neal said. "Gary is [37] years old, but he is still tenacious on defense. I know he still wants [a championship], and I am the only guy in the world that can give him one."</div>

^^Lol, funny that that's shaq being humbled. "I'm the only one that can get him one" about the championship. Eh.

The Heat should've made the Finals last year. This year, there's no stopping us...

Shaq is right, and we have the roster to do it. As Heat4life mentioned:

He seems determined, and hopefully he will live up to that promise.

well if you were meant to make the finals, why didn't you.your team now has a starting roster of ball hogs.all of them are scorers, though Jason Williams has a nice assist average he is still a natural scorer.when the Lakers had Payton and Malone, every Laker fan "knew" that they were going to win the finals, and now look at them. All it takes is a clash of ego's to break a team apart. I honestly think its not going to happen for the heat this year.

Yes, even though the Heat have an incredibly strong lineup on paper, I think the Spurs are the ones who will come out on top.

Yeah, I unfortunately agree with you (as a suns fan). However, speaking of my Suns.. I think they have a real shot, if they click just right and people play to their potential, to go all the way. A similar position the Heat are in really, except the Suns aren't a team of stars, they have a lot more role players built around our main 3 (nash, amare, marion).

In any case, I can't wait for the season to start already!!

[IMG] Where does Shaq come up with this garbage? the guy hasn't won a title in over 3 seasons and is not getting any better. He is becoming worse not only in terms of his body but he is not as dominating as before. He will contine to get more and more injures. I will actually be surprised If he ever wins a title again. With how good the other two east teams are and how strong the Spurs will continue to be.
