Steve Francis is more of a shoot first guard, really a 2 not a 1. However he wasn't a ball hog last year, sharing the ball with Howard and Grant etc. averaging 7 assists a game.

Steve Francis is all star game material. Flashy, ankle breaker, dunker the perfect man for such an exciting game, he deserved to be in it last season. I will admit he isnt the pass first type point guard, but he can pass well when he likes, and he is still a top guard.

Steve Francis is more of a shooting guard trapped in a point guard?s body. He has slowly become a pretty good passer over the years, not exactly a ball hog.

Now about the all-star game discussion, Steve Francis did not make it last year and I am not sure if he will make it this coming year. Like I said in the Mike Bibby all-star game thread, Usually only four guards make the all-star game. I think Allen Iverson and Dwyane Wade are pretty much locks for two of those four guard spots. The last two guard spots are between Gilbert Arenas, Stephon Marbury, and Steve Francis. Gilbert Arenas made it last year and had a great season. This year he will most likely be switch to shooting guard and Antonio Daniels will play PG. I?m not exactly sure how he will do in this role. The same goes for Marbury, he will be switching to shooting guard this season also and no one is really sure how he will do in this position. Lastly is Stevey Franchise, no one knows if he will be playing point guard or shooting guard next season. I think he will succeed in either role and have a good season. Any two of these three guards could end up filling those last two spots on the all-star game roster. Also there is always the chance that five guards could be placed on the team meaning all three make it.

P.S. I assume they will consider Lebron James a small forward for the next all-star game.

OK, let me speak on behalf of having watched Francis as Rocket each of his five years here...

Francis is one of the most competitive players you'll have...he has loads of talent- he's got arguably the best crossover in the league, he can penetrate and score, he can pass, and he can shoot...he's not the best defender but he does make an effort at that end, and I think generally he has good intentions...the man just wants to win...period...however, he is turnoevr-prone and does make some stupid decisions with the ball...which is why he's more of a SG than a PG...now, my point is that if AI can survive playing the 2 spot at 6'0", why not Francis?...he is indeed a "shoot-first" PG even though he posts some consistent assist numbers...he's clutch and he gives his all every game, no doubt about it...I personally miss him here in Houston, although theres no way I would give yall back TMac for him...as far as him being an allstar, its 50/50...Francis gives you 20/6/6 on any night...yet he also shoots 41% and averages 3 turnovers a game...I personally think the Magic need to build around him, Nelson and Howard...that can be a dynamic trio if they're used properly...

agreed francis is very turn over prone and almost never passed to yao when yao would roll off the pick. A smart move would be now that nelson has experiened nba life to move francis to the 2 nelson to the 1
