Im not a Kobe hater at all and I have always respected what he does on the court. But I will confess since the rape thing, and him and Shaq I have sort of looked at him differently, I saw him as a fake guy, full of himself, and just overall a bad person. In this charity game last night I was suprised and pleased with what I saw: The Kobe we all thought was full of himself and bad, there he was helping a little child, and talking to him as if they knew each other for years. In the middle of the game they talked to the boy and took him to Kobe, seeing those two together laughing I felt happy. Seeing this has made me change some opinions I used to have on Kobe, and now I see him as a better person off the court.
Your thoughts on Kobe and what you think about him off the court?

he's actually kinda grown on me last season when he took several young players under his wing despite a losing season. I was actually wondering who that kid with Kobe was, i thought he was a nephew or something..

Apparently Kobe met the kid at one of the shelters and since Kobe was his favorite player he and Kobe had become quite ateam during his stay in houston. Reports are that both of them were always together and Kobe spent alot of time with him on the bench during the game. It was nice to see.

I've never felt different about Kobe... He's young and still growing as a person... I NEVER believed that he rapped that girl, simply because why would he need to???? I mean really, the guy has a BEAUTIFUL wife and TONS of money, so why would he resort to rape? It's no mystery that people at his level do, or have, experienced adultery. If you did that while married, then there?s an issue there; but that?s not against the law? I?m not saying that Kobe should go out and bang every woman he sees and keep that from his wife, but if he did, then that?s his business, and I?m sure that he had reason to if he did; like every other man who does these extra circular activities, especially professional ball players? But like I said that?s a different subject, and that?s NO ONES business? Plus Shaq is no saint either; don?t let all that ?I?m a classy guy? crap fool you?. As a matter of fact there?s gossip going around saying that his peep?s went and beat up some guy for bumping into his wife; FOR BUMPING INTO HIS WIFE?. Now you think good old classy Shaq had the courtesy to tell his people to chill out? That maybe the person actually bumped into his wife by mistake? From what I hear about that situation, that guy is filing for a lawsuit? Its funny how I always here comments like this about Kobe, but when you hear Shaq say his opinions about Kobe or even Lakers organization, this guy has the audacity to say things like, ?Kobe? I have no idea who that is?? ?I know lots of names, but I can?t seem to recognize who that is??. Or, when he sits there to talk bad about Dr. Buss and that LA is fake city? I mean COME ON!!!!! I know you?re bitter but geeze, lets give credit where credit is due? Don?t know who Kobe is huh? Yah right!!!!! YOU KNOW WHO KOBE IS? You wouldn?t be wearing those 3 rings on your finger if you didn?t?. And to talk smack about Dr. Buss is like talking smack to your DADDY!!!! Let?s not forget about the 120 million that, still to this day, is help paying for mortgage on his South Florida mansion?. For a guy who says he is classy; he hasn?t shown me any class yet? So for people who sit there say that Kobe was the one who forced or drove Shaq out of LA; that was Shaq?s own head trip? If 25 or 27 million per year wasn?t enough and that you just had to have 30, and that anything less was an insult, you got to be the MOST GREEDY BASTARD in the world? Don?t tell me you?re the MOST DOMINANT player in the league if you still can?t make free throws PERIOD, and can?t seem to get a win in the Finals if you had Malone, Payton, Kobe on your team? As far as I remember Kobe was the only one who was able to get a win in that series; game 2 in over time? Or did all you Kobe haters forget about that just like Shaq not remembering who helped him win those rings he?s got on his fingers?.

Enough of the "Kobe drove Shaq out of LA" shhhht!!!!! Shaq drove himself out of LA because when it comes down to it, he had the choice to stay... Its not Kobe's fault that 25 or 27 million or what the number was that they tried to agree on, wasn't enough for him to live a BLING-BLING life style....

Kobe Bryant is a class man. After I saw what happened last night, I gained so much respect and admiration for the guy.

I agree with you. When i saw that yesterday I felt very happy. Like other people he has grown on me too. Im hoping he willl continue playing well but it would be good if he stopped being himself I think more people would like him. After seeing him with the little boy, im thinkin to myself, is the same guy who cheated on his wife and supposbly raped a girl.

Before the whole allegation surfaced about Kobe Bryant, he was shown as a family man, and I beleieve that's because he is. I recently saw a picture of him at an LA sparks game holding his baby girl up so she could see her grandfather (Kobes dad) better.

Scoop Jackson wrote a couple of years back in SLAM magazine, how much of a great guy Kobe Bryant was, when at the All star game he treated Scoops kids as if they were his own and spoiled them all day long before the game. I'm not saying Kobe is perfect in anyway shape or form, but he's shown time and again the kind of person he is. Everyone makes mistakes, but it's how you deal with that and learn, that defines the kind of person you are. Kobe is showing us what he's all about, and we can be certian were in for a treat this next season, both in ads, shoes, and on the court.

*As for Shaq. We all know he isn't a classy person. I give him props for handing out scores of money to different charities, and he's a charismatic guy, but that doesn't make him classy. Not by a long shot. Even though he got his money, his team, and the "best player i've ever played with" in miami, he still can't resist taking cheap shots at the team that defined his career, and bank account forever. Kobe hasn't had anything but praise, and good wishes toward Shaq, despite receiving the exact opposite from #34 (now 32). But anyways, best of luck to both of them.

And this doesn't just pertain to his personality, it'll also pertain to his game. The losing season and all the drama that Kobe went thru will make him a stronger player and person.
