I was thinking if it was possible for the bulls to keep ben, deng, Kirk, and Curry. I'm pretty sure Ben, Curry and Kirk will be looking for max contracts and possibly Deng so is it possible?
Yes it is possible all those guys will/are restricted, but signing all of them to big deals will put the Bulls in cap hell for the next five to six years so it is highly unlikely that would happen. I think that at least one will leave on a sign and trade.
I think Deng will leave because his position is the easiest to fill. PG are rare along with Centers so Curry and Kirk are safe, and then theres Ben and he's just flat out amazing so he aint going no where. Deng is a SF and they could easily pick up someone to fill that position, but I like Deng and do think that he deserves a max contract.
At this point, none of those players are worthy or a max contract. They are all good players, but none worthy of that much money. And as far as the one that is easiest to dispense, it's Curry. He's got the heart issue and he's essentially refusing the contract that they offered him. If he isn't resigned by next offseason and looks for the max at that time, then he's going to be gone.
If we assume that everybody lives up to his potential, and we have to drop someone because of salary cap problems, i would let Ben Gordon go. Curry: top 3 C in the league Deng: multi talented forward, i think he will be the glue of the team in the coming years. I mean, did you see how he played last year, at just 19 y old? HInrich: great PG and unselfish floor leader. every title contender needs a guy like that. Gordon: will be a great scorer (allready is), but he is a bit undersized, and defense is not one of his strenghts. + scoring guards are not so hard to find in this league. That's why i would drop Ben if it were up to me. But only in this situation. In the end, there will be no right or wrong answer for this issue. The Bulls will just have to wait and see how it's gonna play out...
