What I'll hate the most about this upcoming season is that the Lakers WILL make the playoffs.. I'm a diehard Kobe hater.. I've hated him since his rookie season - for no particular reason (but I just do and let's just leave it at that).. But yeah.. In any case, I totally see them taking a playoff spot.. Forget all of the critics and experts who have their doubts.. Phil and Kobe will WILL them into the post-season.. I see them being better than Golden State, Minnesota, and the Clippers, while taking Seattle's spot (last year was a Cinderella year - call me a cynic).. And because of that, I'm already left a bit pissed off.. lmao.. The point of this post? None.. Well, maybe just to let you Lakers fans know that even a hater believes in them this year lol.. Peace..
Im not a hater or lover but i think they will do better than last season. I don't think they will go far in the playoffs but I think they will at least make the playoffs. I really sure that they will do better than Minny but not Golden State. Other than that for the most part I agree with you.
I think they will be better this season just because they can't be worse than last season. If we have major injuries to Lamar and Kobe again, then we can kiss the season good bye. If they stay ultimately injury free it could be great. Also, any team with PJ at the helm can't miss the playoffs in my opinion. Throw Kwame into the mix, a veteran player like McKie, and the rumored Latrell Spreewell off the bench, and you've got a potently offensive team, that can still mix it up defensively. Here is the West: 1) Spurs 2)Suns 3)Dallas 4)Rockets 5)Kings 6)Denver 7)Lakers 8)Sonics

The Kings added Bonzi Wells, and Shareef Abdur-Rahim. They did good a few years ago without Webber, so IMO they should be fine, but probably around 6th. I think the Lakers can make the playoffs, but the West is deep. These are my West "no fatal accidents" playoff teams: 1) Spurs 2) Phoenix 3) Denver 4) Houston 5) Dallas 6) Sacramento Now for the 2 last spots, it's a battle between: Seattle Golden State Minnesotta LA Lakers LA Clippers Memphis Utah It's definately not going to be easy. If I had to pick 3, I'd go with 2 of Seattle, Golden State, and Minneostta...

If Jerry West, probably one of the best GM's right now, was happy to get rid of Bonzi Wells, that kinda tells you something. Also on the King's burden is that Peja doesn't want to be a King anymore, Mike Bibby's best days are gone, and trading Chris Webber was stupid. Their best chance was in 2002 where they technically should of been the NBA champs. Now since then they have sunk deeper and deeper going from the western conference finals in 2002 to losing in the first round of the playoffs this year. It's going to be interesting to see the Kings become the crappy team they were once known for overtime.
^ Jerry West also got rid of James Posey, it doesn't make him a bad player now does it? Bonzi is not a bad player by any means, but look at the Grizzlies yourself, they had Battier, Miller, Posey, and Bonzi, all who are starting caliber swingmen, someone or 2 needed to go. They let him go to fill another team need, not because he's not a capable player. I don't know why people keep riding off Abur-Rahim, he's not old or something, he's not even 29 yet. Just almost 2 seasons ago he was averaging 20-9 on the Hawks, he goes to the Blazers who have a younger player at his position, and in a year filled with some injuries, he still puts up 17-7 playing out of position a lot too, and now he's an has-been? He's not going to be the leader on the Kings, but the Kings have shown they can make anyone a good passer, and Abdur was already decent for a big, Expect numbers like 18-8-4 from him this coming season. If the Kings can have KT averaging 3 APG in 32 MPG Shareef can average even up to 5 APG if he's playing starter minutes considering he was averaging 3 APG most of his career. Who's talking about going to the finals, this is making the 6th seed in the playoffs lol. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Also on the King's burden is that Peja doesn't want to be a King anymore, Mike Bibby's best days are gone, and trading Chris Webber was stupid.</div> Peja didn't want to be a King when Webber was there, their hasn't been any talk from him. Bibby's best days are gone? Do you understand the concept of age? Bibby is just entering his prime, he just turned 28 in May, and put up basically 20-4-7 last season as a whole, and after Webber was gone he was averaging about 21-4-8.

Mike Bibby, to me, hasn't played like he has since 02-04. He had a mediocre year last year. If Peja won't miss Webber, Bibby will. Webber actually helped Bibby click by setting up those screens. Like Peja, Bibby is a catch and shoot guy. Ever since Vlade and now Webber have left, the Kings haven't had any tall and strong people to screen for Bibby or Peja for that matter. Now he will have to learn how to play off the dribble. OH and I still belive even though that Webber is gone, Peja wants to leave. Sure he was unhappy with Webber but he is putting personal guilt on himself and that's why he wants to leave. He may not say it, but deep down that man wants out.

Did you stop to notice that he was averaging a career high in points and still managed to shell out almost 7 assists? Look past those and you will also note that he had a career high in rebounds, his FG% was right around his career average, as was his 3PT%, and his SPG was his second best in his career. To go and look at his total statline: 19.6 ppg, 6.8 apg, 4.2 rpg, 1.55 spg, 44.3% FGs, 36% 3PTs, 77.5% FT. Now, you're calling that a down year? To me, that's a hell of a year. If that's not a good season for a PG, I'd love to know what you think is.
