Hmm... If KG wants out and he specifically says LA Lakers, I wonder if Minny would bite on Lamar Odom + Kwame Brown (when he's free to trade) for somebody like KG and whoever on the Twolves that seals the deal. The Lakers would need to give up a draft pick, I'd think because they can't build a team on those two alone. What do you think of this? pg: Aaron McKie sg: Kobe sf: Devean George pf: KG c: Chris Mihm Not too shabby. But I doubt Minny would be crazy enough to trade within their own conference.
I'd hope we could go after a FA SF because the only players on that roster that I like are Kobe and KG. But then again Shaq and Kobe did it with only 2 people....wow the lakers really have no talent this year after Lamar and Kobe

For starters the TWolves have to get off to a terrible start leading to KG becoming a disgruntled superstar. The TWolves would also need Kevin McHale to step down or be fired, since there's no chance he would help the Lakers improve. KG would have to demand being traded to the Lakers, and a deal would then have to be worked out. Odom, Kwame, and another player might be enough to get a deal done, but then the Lakers would have close to $40Million tied up in just two players.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">the Lakers would have close to $40Million tied up in just two players.</div> Yeah but it's not just any two players. It's the best SG (if not the best player) and arguably the best PF in the game. Two players who have a lot to prove (Can KG win) (Can Kobe Lead)? KG would probably average 24-26 a night, grabbing 13 or 14 boards at with probably 6 assists- I say 6 Dimes because Kobe would be freed up for many a jump shot with KG demanding double and triple teams. Kobe would probably average 25-27, 6 rebs and 7 or 8 assists because he'd just feed KG the ball half the time. The other three guys on the floor at this point aren't that important, they just have to be good role players that can hit the wide open and create a shot or two for themselves. Aaron Mckie- Capable outside shooter, declining defense but would set the pace for the offense. Kobe Bryant- Dish to open teammates, create his own shot, stop just about any gaurd put in front of him. Luke Walton- Improving shooting ability, great passer for a guy his size, decent rebounder as well. Kevin Garnett- Would stop anybody that got past Kobe, while creating shots for himself and teammates, would probably grab at least 25% of the Lakers rebounds Chris Mihm- Would see his scoring rise to 15 per game with slick passing from both Garnett and Kobe. Probably become the third option in the offense. Championship team right there
Believe me I would be all for KG becoming a Laker, he and Kobe are my two current favorite players, and having them together on my favorite team would be amazing. I think the Lakers could recruit role players with those two as teammates, and would also have to rely on their draft picks working out ... Turiaf, Bynum, and Wafer.
Why does everyone here think that Garnett is going to the Lakers? Where did that even start? It's not happening...he was the MVP two years ago. The Wolves aren't that stupid. That's like trading Kobe (and I know all of you would HATE that.......). I like Kobe and the Lakers but a lot of Laker fans treat him like a god when he's really just a little more talented than Tracy McGrady...
yeah but he has things tmac doesn't- or at least not nearly to the same extent- Fire, and work ethic. To very admirable qualities that you don't see in the Leage much these days.

KG is already disgruntled and upset with Minnesota. There were articles on ESPN.com months ago saying that he wasn't a happy camper in Minnesota. He was upset with the Spreewell situation, losing, and him getting the idea he will never win a ring in Minnesota. If KG really wants out of Minnesota, then he will have to pull a Vince Carter. If Toronto will trade their franchise player for some stinky pieces of crap, what will prevent Minnesota from doing the same thing. The only exception is that KG is more efficient than Carter so it might be a little tougher. All and all, I think Minnesota fans better get the farewell party started for KG, because I believe he will be gone soon.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting custodianrules2:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah, that's who I'd really go after especially after the meltdown in the Twolves backcourt (no heart). It makes sense too because KG is more of an all around player that will play defense, pass, be the go-to guy, he'll make the team better on both ends of the floor because he'll do whatever (excellent for Kobe). I love Amare but there's still a lot of hype and mystery about what he can actually do this year minus the setup guy Steve Nash. Amare still needs to refine that post game and work on defense and passing in order to be a true franchise player, otherwise he's just a more raw version of Jermaine O'neil without the defense or one-on-one skill.</div> Did you watch the suns and spurs series? I'm sure you did..... Then you saw Amare destroy anyone who tried to guard him, that includes duncan. I believe this proves his 1vs1 skillz are pure nasty. Also, Amare is getting better at D, his block on duncon also proves this. Does Amare have a lot of work to do, hellya, but when a player can dump 30plus points on a spurs D then i'm sure the sky's the limit. The only reason why Amare would choose to play with Kobe in Ltown is the chance to play for Jackson. Jackson is a great coach and could teach Amare to be a lot smarter on the basketball court.

ON TOPIC: The first month of basketball is going to be very interesting for the TWolves. 11 out of 13 teams are potential playoff teams. The TWolves also have a 4 game road trip to open December. If they get off to a slow start, you have to wonder how much longer their owner wants to pay a high amount of money for subpar team.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting YourNewChef:</div><div class="quote_post">Just a quick question, how many more years does Garnett have on his contract with Minny?</div> KG becomes a free agent in 2009/10 season. He'll be 32 or 33 by then.
