Nice stuff, but I think that the JBB one should get more love. It's still a nice preview though. Good job.

Nice..........That's what I wanted out of Rockets.com. Something to get me excited about the upcoming season. The offseason is clearly the most boring part of the year. For fans like myself who get tired of watching the Texans and the Astros lose every season, I must say the Rockets are Houston's team. But for some reason, most people in Houston don't support the Rockets like the they do the Texans and Astros. Maybe it will change this season. Think I might read that article again.

I'm lovin' the Rockets.com preview! I don't know about all y'all, but just reading that got me anxious to see the first game with our new guys. Excellent preview and the positional analysis was wonderful. This is exactly what Rockets.com needs, and I have a feeling the site is only going to get better as the year progresses.

LOL....I feel ya homeboy.......I love football and baseball, but it seems like they always get all of the attention around here, and I find this hard to believe considering The Rockets are the only one of the three to actually win something......The Texans have like 200 news programs dedicated to them, people in Texas really love their football.

Tell me about it. I graduated from Katy High School and if you didn't play football then you were wasting your time basically. I never understood how the Rockets got less coverage and weren't talked about more than any of the other Houston sports teams. I mean, they are the only Houston team with championship banners.

I went to Pearland, and everything at the school was about football and only football.....I've always loved football and baseball, but basketball and the rockets have always been # 1 in my heart.

Try living in Canada where hockey takes up 5 of the 10 pages of the sports section.

Yikes, football usually takes up like 3 or 4 for us.

Me too. I used to play baseball when I was younger, and it was fun. But let's not kid ourselves, there isn't anything better than B-Ball. Whether your watching it or playing it, basketball rules!!! I just hate the fact that the Rockets are so popular around the world, but put on the backburner in they're own city. You have a top 5 player in Tmac, who is too exciting too watch. You also have a 7'6 center from a country that treats him like a GOD. What's not to like about the Rockets? Even though the Astros and Texans suck, they still get the majority of the support in Houston.................... [IMG]

Damn could you imagine if the rockests started to suck, the rockets are contenders and it seems the stands are still half empty, what would happen if they got bad?

When we were bad, we were third-last in home attendence, which was the 01-02 season. We weren't bad road draws though because of Francis and Mobley, but they just couldn't do anything at home.

I doubt we'd be anywhere near that level again though, because we now have a new arena and a very exciting and pleasing trio. As long we have those three in Yao, TMac and Swift, we'll be in the top 20 attendance wise.

I dunno Locke, Houston has very few Rockets diehards...because we're so diverse and get so many people from other areas of the country, we tend to get people who already have favorite teams...Houston will only come out and show their support when we're successful, which means like 20-30 games over .500 [IMG] ...It's a fair-weather city, plain and simple...this city needs to wake up and support this ballclub because we have a class organization who try their damn hardest to put together a successful team year in and year out...

I'm still not convinced...I've been a Rockets diehard for 10 years now and I've yet to see the attendance stay consistent...it's always fluctuating depending on if we're winning or not, and I think that's wrong...you should support your team no matter what...I would say our fans, in terms if support and attendance, are in the bottom 10 of the league...

to reply to the topic, I disagree with the positional analysis a little. first, as far as the starting 2 guard spot, I think it should go by training camp and preseason to see wether Wesley or Anderson should start. The only other thing is a little pat peeve....McGrady will score VERY close to the same as last year. I wouldn't be suprised if he got 26+ ppg next year.

I think if any of his numbers change it will be his Assists. and they'll go up. even if it's just fast break lobs to Stro. It bugged me when it said this just like when we got McGrady last year everyone was like "He won't get more than 20PPG playing under JVG!" Well after the first month or so, he was awesome I think he was around 28 or so the rest of the season.

So lets say McGrady stays at his 26 ppg...and Stro and DA come in and average 13 apiece...so you're saying that as a team we'll be averaging 121 points per game? No way...somebody's production will have to drop somehow, and I think it'll be TMac because he will appreciate the added help...I do agree with you that his assists will go up tho...

Hopefully, TMac will play less minutes because of the help we have now. Last season, teams would double him and Yao for a larger portion of games and I believe it took a toll on McGrady as the season progressed. He was expected to put up 27 every night for the team to win. Now, with the additions of two more scoring options, TMac's pressue will be lifted and he can afford to pass the ball more. I'm sure he appreciates the help and he won't have to force shots up like he did at times last season.
