<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Lamont:</div><div class="quote_post">Sorry to correct u shape, but zo wasn't part of the heat roster, he was part of the jersey roster and was then traded to toronto who then bought out his contract so he could return to play in miami with a chance for a championship. i don't see any reason why he would have played in la.</div> Fair enough, you can probably just add Zo instead of Divac to the Lakers' roster, and add Malik Allen instead of Zo on the Heat's roster. I pretty much agree that only 3 other "non-big-men" players on a par with Kobe - LeBron, TMac and Dwayne. HOWEVER, I would say that LeBron and TMac are as talented as Kobe but not as motivated Or as clutch, at least they haven't proven that so far. Dwayne HAS that mental thing but I would argue that talent wise he is not quite in the Kobe/LeBron/TMac stratosphere. I think Stephon or Iverson are as talented as Dwayne. one guy whose talent is off the charts but mental drive is a question mark is Vince Carter. Kobe passes the ball as much as anyone else who is offensively great, the thing I notice about Kobe that must really piss the teammates off is how he makes it all about him sometimes. I was watching them play Utah last year and at the time Kirilenko was doing some ridiculous number in blocked shots, like 5 a game. lakers were grinding it out and down by 10, then Kobe took the ball from the top of the key into the paint and 360 dunked right near Kirilenko. Then he got super-pumped but they were down by 10. It seems like he lives for these personal moments. Same thing with Dwight Howard he sought him out cause he was noted as a promising rook. He should be getting super pumped when they're collectively up by 15 and then he can dunk on guys and get pumped. And it was like he decided that that was the play he was going to run as soon as the Lakers got the previous rebound. if i was his teammate my reaction would be okay you're the man now stop preening and get back on D. don't get me wrong i love the showman aspect of it and the one-on-one game but not if i was his teammate and we were trying to win ballgames.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">TRUTH! Also last time I checked the Heat and GM Shaq have not been able to recruit a single free agent. All their new players were acquired via trade and the only players who re-signed were Haslem and Zo. Not to mention Shaq actually worked out last summer and came to camp in great shape and conditioning.</div> Antoine Walker was acquired through Sign and trade(so he had to be recruited), Haslem returned for less money, Zo was recruited, and Shandon Anderson. Payton might also be acquired. Anyway, it is unfortunate for Laker fans that Shaq was out of shape, and being selfish by demanding huge sums of money, and being childish about the Lakers being his team. It is also unfortunate that Kobe was selfish about the Lakers being his team. I think if Kobe was traded instead of Shaq for Wade + filler, that the Lakers would have done considerably better than what actually happened. Even if Kobe didn't get injured.
