Not only did Vlad not start, not produce, and not win--he also wasn't the best teammate in the world either. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Serbia-Montenegro basketball coach Zeljko Obradovic resigned Wednesday after his team's early exit from the European Championship and a locker room brawl between several teammates. France beat Serbia-Montenegro 74-71 Tuesday to reach the quarterfinals, eliminating the hosts and reigning world champions with a 2-2 record. Team captain Dejan Bodiroga, center Zeljko Rebraca of the Los Angeles Clippers and Dejan Tomasevic also announced they were quitting the national squad. Obradovic blamed the team's "catastrophic play" on his feuding players. He said Marko Jaric of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Igor Rakocevic of Real Madrid had a fist fight after the loss to France, as did Tomasevic and forward Vladimir Radmanovic of the Seattle SuperSonics.</div> Link Since Vlad was kicked off the 2002 World Championship winning team the Serbian National Team has been horrible, with Vlad an integral part of the collapse. They haven't even qualified for the past two tournament quarterfinals (2004 Olympics, 2005 European Championships) and were a disappointing 5th finish in the 2003 Euros. Not a great selling point when you are negotiating a contract. Take the Sonics offer before it's rescinded, fam.
Vlade Radmanovic Throws Down <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">He said Marko Jaric of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Igor Rakocevic of Real Madrid had a fist fight after the loss to France, as did Tomasevic and forward Vladimir Radmanovic of the Seattle SuperSonics.</div> Source This guy is an idiot. The kind of guy a new coach needs in the locker room.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Iron Shiek:</div><div class="quote_post">Not only did Vlad not start, not produce, and not win--he also wasn't the best teammate in the world either. </div> Sorry, I guess we were posting at the same time. Here is a little reminder from Vlade's interview <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Vladimir Radmanovic:</div><div class="quote_post">Whether I?m a leader or if I play two minutes per match doesn?t matter to me at all. Compared to some of the coaches I had opportunity to work with here in the NBA, Obradovic is the master of his domain. With still a very good pool of players and an excellent coaching staff, I think that all pieces are in place for us to make a result the whole nation would be proud of.</div>
from the rockets point of view id be more than happy to do a sign in trade with wesley and another player for radmonivich if seattle doesnt want him. The only downside would be ur taking a risk with what has happened.
Vlad is an idiot, I think we all know this by now. I think you can probably add Dave Bauman to the list of people annoyed by him too.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TmacGarnett:</div><div class="quote_post">is he the sonics GM??</div> Nope, he's Radman's agent. I wonder how many calls he'll be getting for his client after these stellar numbers: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> ACCUMULATED STATISTICS G Min 2P FG 3P FG FT Reb AS PF TO ST BS Pts Avg M/A % M/A % M/A % O D Tot 4 15.8 7/10 70.0 6/14 42.9 4/4 100.0 0.8 1.8 2.5 0.5 2.3 2.0 1.0 0.3 36 9.0 GAME-BY-GAME STATISTICS Match Min 2P FG 3P FG FT Reb AS PF TO ST BS Pts M/A % M/A % M/A % O D Tot VS Spain 15 2/2 100.0 1/4 25.0 0/0 0.0 1 2 3 1 1 2 1 1 7 VS Israel 10 2/2 100.0 0/1 0.0 2/2 100.0 1 2 3 1 3 1 1 0 6 VS Latvia 20 2/4 50.0 1/4 25.0 2/2 100.0 1 2 3 0 3 2 2 0 9 VS France 18 1/2 50.0 4/5 80.0 0/0 0.0 0 1 1 0 2 3 0 0 14 </div> Granted I think that he can help us a lot next year and the years thereafter, but at this point even 6 years 42 million dollars seems like he'd be excessively overpaid. Give him a qualifying offer and see whether or not he's worth breaking the bank for next season. I don't think that too many teams are interested in bringing in a forward who, when playing for the pride of his country, grabbed fewer rebounds for the entire tournament than he threw punches at a teammate. Let his value drop, Rick, then sign him at a bargain. Smile Howard: you haven't had to reach as far into your pockets as you thought you'd might for this year's Sonics' payroll. Key Arena, however, is different story altogether.
its ironic how players usually play their best in contract years and radman has but to ruin it in the offseason has to be really horrible

It's the mismatches he causes that have helped Serbia Montenegro. He is tall, agile, athletic and strong enough to play inside and out. He is not the one-dimensional player I thought he was. There is more to him than just standing outside the 3-point arc -- at least when he plays for the national team. Grade: B</div>
