Yao when he first entered the league: Yao now (I'm not sure of the event and how recent it is though): I guess some pictures can be decieving, so judge for yourselves.
Yeah..........he's definatley been doing some push ups. Look at his neck and arms. His first year, you could see vains in his neck and his arms had no definition. Now his arms are clearly defined, and his upper body is more toned. I think Yao is stronger than most people think. I think he just needs to take more shots (even some illadvised)
Those pics are from this summer, no later than a month old. We've seen other pictures before, but not this batch. Thanks giftedvisionz. Yao definitely will be much improved this season. He had two months where he could not play basketball so I guess all he did was pump iron. Let's just be optimistic and hope that he didn't use any steroids, because it'd hurt the team if any testing revealed that he did use them.

^I heard tmac was working real hard too. I also heard taht they are working together non stop. These are real good signs. I say nba champs.
Guys, let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Even though we've had a great offseason with the additions of four solid players, we're still not the best team in the West. We could be championship contenders, but we started last season in that position as well and quickly lost that label when we started out badly. This season, we're coming in as one of the teams others are shooting for and we'll get everyone's best efforts. It definitely will not be easy and let's reserve these judgments for until after the team proves that it can win.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TmacGarnett:</div><div class="quote_post">i just hope hes as fast as he is</div> I don't think Yao can get much slower than he already is. For centers, strength is generally more of a priority. So at least Yao is finally doing strength training.
Anyone want to guess how much he weighs now? His NBA.com profile says 296lbs. I am thinking that's a little old.. but I will guess 325lbs or so. I think Shaq is 350-360lbs or so as he stated on Quite Frankly the other day. I really hope they get rid of this pic for his profile though. We need a meaner one of him.. cause this one definitely gives me the idea of him being "soft".
