<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The 2005-06 NBA season is coming upon us full speed. A brand new minor-league system is now in place with the D-League. A new crop of rookies will be unveiled, starring the No. 1 pick overall Andrew Bogut in Milwaukee. Then there are the defending champion San Antonio Spurs, having added Michael Finley and Nick Van Exel, attempting to win their fourth NBA title in eight years. And if they do, it all begins with superstar power forward Tim Duncan, who after spending time spanning some of the NBA finest minds, is No. 1 on the list of the top 50 players in the NBA.</div> http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/4890680 For all you lebron fans, no he doesn't deserve to be #1 he's still gotta get into the playoffs.
There is no way Wade should be that high he should be right about where Lebron is. I don?t think that as an individual talent he is any more talented then Lebron is. Duncan without a doubt should be number one or two right now Shaquille O?Neal is number one on my list, because he is still at the age of 33 (I believe) the most dominate player in the league. I think everything else is pretty accurate. Nice to see Kirk Hinrich up there and to see Chandler and Gordon get an honorable mention. I also would put Artest a bit higher, and not have Richard Hamilton ranked over him. My favorite thing about this list was seeing Billups get some respect. Edit:Nevermind the pretty accurrate part. Towards the middle of the list it seems he was just naming random players.
I KNOW TMac is better than D-Wade...I hate how everybody praises Wade now after just 2 years...his rookie year was great, but anytime you have Shaq on your team, it automatically opens things up for you...Its arguable, IMO, that McGrady is as good, if not better than AI...AI's a great scorer and has nice assist numbers but doesnt have the rebounds, FG% or steals of TMac...Wade does not have the all-around talent of McGrady or Lebron, and its apparent this list is basing their picks off of playoff success, which is fine, but talent should come into play as well, and Wade is not as talented nor defined over a period of time as McGrady...

Lebron > Dirk Manu Ginobili < Vince, Kidd, Baron, Pierce, Arenas Oh man this list is a joke, wow... Arenas > Webber, Redd, Rasheed, Francis, Rip, Billups, Ben blah blah blah I don't know how this guy was ranking the players, if you win games on a good team you're now very good?
Duncan is extremely overrated Maybe i dont know as much as i should about him but there are so many other players better than duncan eg. KG, shaq, kobe

Kobe isn't selfless like Duncan, who doesn't play for stats or individual achievements.
Lebron > Dirk you could make that argument. Manu Ginobili < Vince, Kidd, Baron, Pierce, Arenas I think it's not just about how many moves you got, it's whats in your head and heart Kidd in his prime is a top 10 player, but he isn't in his prime. I buy Manu vs. Pierce, Pierce is very underrated clutch, plays hard, versatile, etc. But you don't win as many titles as Manu does by fluke Baron has made some post-season noise but until you prove it. . . Vince Oh man this list is a joke, wow... Arenas > Webber, Redd, Rasheed, Francis, Rip, Billups, Ben blah blah blah I don't know how this guy was ranking the players, if you win games on a good team you're now very good?
Lebron > Dirk you could definitely make that argument, although i wonder if lebron will ever live up to his potential Manu Ginobili < Vince, Kidd, Baron, Pierce, Arenas it's not just about how many moves you got, it's whats in your head and heart Kidd in his prime is a top 10 player, but he isn't in his prime. I buy Manu vs. Pierce, Pierce is very underrated clutch, plays hard, versatile, etc. But you don't win as many titles as Manu does by fluke Baron has made some post-season noise but until you go all the way it's hard to dinstinguish yourself. . . It's true that Manu has TD and Baron had Elden Campbell who was good but not Tim Vince Carter is already too high on this list. If his career ended today he would be known for his dunks, if Manu's ended he would be known for 2 rings, so look at it from that perspective Oh man this list is a joke, wow... Arenas > Webber, Redd, Rasheed, Francis, Rip, Billups, Ben blah blah blah Arenas is definitely too low and Webber and Redd have no business being that high. But i think you need to give rasheed some love. Rasheed Wallace is probably the most underrated guy in the league. He's the only guy who can cause Duncan problems. He's a sick defender. He can smoke 3's. Arenas after one great season has yet to prove he's in Rasheed's league. I don't know how this guy was ranking the players, if you win games on a good team you're now very good? The players Make the team good dont forget

I mean look at Tony Parker and how he played in the Euro leagues, the guy is not that good he just thrives under the system. Vince, Baron or Arenas would have made the championship even easier for the Spurs. VC is a great dunker yes, but look at his numbers last year post-trade, and how he brought back the Nets from the dead. He definately deserves to be higher than Manu. Kidd to in his prime was a top 5 player. He still is a top 10 player. He was slowed a bit last year b/c of injuries, but when he was healthy later in the season he almost avgd. a triple double. I agree Webber is a joke and should not be in the top 40.
