According to Chris Mortenson Cedrick Benson has ended his hold out and will report to Bears training camp. They have agreed to a contract and it'll be done by today.

Smart move. If he held out much longer, he wouldn't have had any time to try to take the starting job from Thomas Jones.

I'm thinking Jones will start but I also believe that Benson is gonna take the job about half through the season. Jones will still be used as a pass reciever out of the backfield. He has good hands.

Both backs are gonna get tons of carries without a solid starting QB

Now after reports that the hold out might end today its gonna last a little longer. He was expected to sign today but will not. This might go longer than expected.

Well hopefully he will get signed sometime soon, because the Bears need him to get in camp

First on NFL Live Chris Mortenson said that Benson should sign the deal by today and then on Countdown he said it might linger for a little longer.

While No. 2 pick Ronnie Brown ended his holdout by signing with the Dolphins Monday, Benson is no closer to coming to terms.

"We really haven't had any progress on that," Angelo said. "It's unfortunate. We're still working on it. It's just not happening."

In 49 games, Benson carried 1,112 times for 5,540 yards (5.0 avg.) and 64 touchdowns. His 5,540 yards rank sixth on the NCAA Division I-A career-record list and is topped only by Williams (6,279, 1995-98) on the Longhorns' all-time record chart. He is only the fifth back in NCAA history to rush for over 1,000 yards in each of his four seasons. His 64 touchdowns are surpassed only by Williams (72) and Travis Prentice of Miami, Ohio (73, 1996-99) on the NCAA's career record list. He also set an NCAA record by scoring at least once in 37 games. In the 25 games in which Benson ran for over 100 yards, the Longhorns won every contest.
