From the insidehoops nba rumors page -- "The Toronto Raptors training camp roster will include Tierre Brown, Jose Calderon, Bryant Matthews, Toree Morris, Robert Pack and Corey Williams, plus every other player actually signed to a full Raptors contract already." InsideHoops.com
I don't see any one of Pack, Brown and Williams being any significant help to the Raptors as a third point guard. Pack has not played NBA basketball for a few years now, Brown has been a scrub all his career, and Williams did not even play in the NCAA, let alone the NBA. I might be missing out on something, but why isn't Omar Cook even invited to training camp? Has he committed to another team?
According to several Laker fans, Tierre Brown could better than many people think. Why isn't Cook invited though?? He'd be perfect for that 3rd string role.
I'm really surprsied we didn't keep Omar Cook atleast around, We didn't really blwo him off did we? I know he didnt do well in summer league, but a training camp invite woulda been nice IMO.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Drake Remoray:</div><div class="quote_post">What happened to Robert Pack before? Was he injured?</div> He's 36 years old and hasn't been a rotation player in the NBA for about 4 years. He hasn't latched on to any team in recent years because there simply wasn't enough interest. I really don't think he'd make the cut as a 36 year-old, 6-2 point guard.
He only has to be a 3rd string pg, so he will probably play 5 minutes a game or something, or serve as a back-up in case of injury or Rafer disagreements. He has experience, so that must be good for something.
i still think omar is the best option right now. o maybe even rod strickland if he is around...?? remember his first or 2nd game with us? he had like 15 asssists or something! that night was crazy.
I remember that game, he was amazing for us. He did put up huge assists, and was scoring decently. He is 39 though, he might not be playing anymore who knows.
Strickland played with the Rockets for a while last year and he was very bad indeed. Didn't seem to hit a midrange shot at all and was a step slower than every guard he was guarding.

He is horrible, no D, no 3, and never met a shot he couldn't miss.
Corey 'Homicide' Williams I didn't realize this but Corey Williams is Homicide from EBC @ Rucker Park. Man he has quicks and handles. Can't shoot, but he can get to the hole at will. He would be a 28 year old NBA rookie though.
First Skip, and now Homicide? I say we bring that fatass Escalade next. Maybe he could show Bosh how to put on a few pounds.
Someone can tell me about Corey Williams ? i don't know this guy, but he's leading the poll in Raptors.com for our 3rd point guard... I know Robert Pack very well and he's my favourive.
