<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">KU duo invited to NBA camps By Gary Bedore (Contact) Friday, September 23, 2005 Former Kansas University basketball players Aaron Miles and Keith Langford continue to pursue their NBA free-agent dreams. Langford, a shooting guard from Forth Worth, Texas, has accepted an invitation to training camp of the Houston Rockets. Miles also worked out this summer for San Antonio, Houston and New York. He has signed a contract that guarantees him an undisclosed amount of money regardless of whether he makes the team.</div> Source I don't really know much about him but he might battle minutes with Ryan Bowen for third stringer small forward minutes. Don't know, he's too short to be a good small forward but we're pretty stacked at shooting guard right now unless Wesley gets traded. I smell something fishy.
Well, Langford is a Texan, young, athletic and has some potential, so it's not really surprising to hear that the Rockets made a move towards him. However, Langford is a good scorer and solid defender but he lacks the size to cut it at small forward. It's unlikely he'd make the team as a shooting guard as well because it seems the Rockets are determined to play Head as a SG, and he doesn't really have what it takes to cut it as a NBA point guard. I strongly doubt that he would make the team.
for Langford to stay on, a 2-for-1 trade has to materialize or we have to cut both Ward AND Moochie...so he's got to really impress the staff...but decent pickup...I just dont see him making the final roster...

Great mid-range game, doesn't settle for 3's ... Able to come off screens well and clear space for a jumper ... Has greatly improved his long-range shooting skills ... Not a mad-bomber by any means, but does utilize the perimeter shot as part of his repertoire ... Smooth going to his left ... One of the best slashers in the country ... Consistently gets to the rim, pushing the ball to the basket before the defense can set itself ... Outstanding finisher ... Understands how to play within a system and rarely forces the action ... Excellent passer, capable of playing back-up point guard ... Adept at crashing both the offensive and defensive boards, especially to initiate the transition game ... A tremendous shot-blocker for his height ... Quickly explodes off the floor ... Solid ball-thief ... Can defend all three perimeter positions. Fun Fact: Langford's given name is Andre, but he goes by his middle name, Keith. Keith owns the unusual habit of changing his sneakers during the intermission if he plays poorly in the first half. He also owns a pair of lucky socks.
FUN FACTS ARE AWESOME!!!! ok anyways that was a wonderful read about him....got me excited to watch him play in the NBA....if he can continue to play like he has it wouldn't be so bad to have him....gives us more options as well when it comes to trading players.
Do we really need another gaurd on our squad. He is 6 4 so he could be a good point gaurd but played shooting gaurd at KU. It doesn't hurt to invite him to training camp though. Good luck to him.
