Blatche was shot once in the chest as two assailants approached a car in which he was a passenger around 6:30 a.m., according to an Alexandria, Va., police report. After the shooting, the driver of the car, who was not named in the report, drove to Blatche's home in the Washington, D.C., suburb and called police. Ambulance personnel responded and Blatche was taken via helicopter to Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Va.

Blatche was listed in serious but stable condition, according to a police spokesman. Blatche's mother, Angela Oliver, of Syracuse, received a telephone call from the Alexandria police early Sunday morning.</div>

It is interesting how a tragedy makes people's hearts open to the person.
I am rooting for his success in the nba.

I would be scared if I actually saw a 7-footer in a car which I am going to rob. Makes me wonder if a robbery isn't really the motive, but rather a jealousy related crime.

i work with alexandria police and have alot of them come to my place of work which is the busiest movie theatre on the east coast. so when i go to work ill talk to one of them, because they are all detectives so theyll no certain stuff that the press wont know. i live in alexandria so its kinda wierd for that to happen here.

    Revenge

being from the syracuse area I think this was a retaliation. Just a couple months ago there was a shooting outside of his graduation party. His agent quickly made sure everyone knew that he wasn't involved, but some local people said that even tho he didnt shoot the gun, he was in the argument that lead to the shooting.

Anyways, it is HIGHLY possible that this shooting is payback for the person that was killed a couple months ago. There are a lot of people in the Cuse that dont like Blatche, especially after the incident.

Anyways, the kid is a thug who couldn't even get the grades to make it into college after going to prep school (where they water it down so kids CAN qualify). He had a terrible attitude all through high school, and his teammates all hated his me first, selfish attitude.

Just cause the kid was shot, there is no need for everyone to instantly root for him.

Seems like a set-up to me. 6.30am? gets shot before he can get out? his friends and the driver weren't shot? hmmm...

hope he finds some new friends in Washington.

I agree, seems a little too fishy. Hope he recovers quickly.
