Well now that it looks as though Billy King has finally stopped making moves, we should have a look at the best possible starting line up. I think there are many combinations possible, so let me know what you all think would be best. Mine looks like this: PG - Allen Iverson SG - Andre Iguodala SF - Lee Nailon PF - Chris Webber C - Samuel Dalembert Please post yours with your reasonings!!!
most people Most people seem to think the Starting Lineup will be Iverson, Kover, Iguodala, Webber and Dalembert. ESPN.com has Nailon listed as the backup SF source .
Well the roster is still very unstable at the small forward slot I don?t think we can succeed by having Korver or Nailon starting at that spot. A player I really like and Cheeks has been rumored to have really liked is John Salmons. He has wasting away on the 76ers bench for the last couple seasons, all the coaching changes, and inconsistent rotations have really hindered his progress, but I got a gut feeling this will be his break out yea. He will impress Cheeks in training camp like he has been doing and earn the starting spot. So here is my lineup it?s completely open to change should we acquire a better small forward but right now... PG- Allen Iverson- No reasoning needed SG- John Salmons he has a pretty decent jumper when open and can hit it with consistency from the mid range. He has a good corner shot from the arc, but I would have him in the court with AI because he has better ball handling abilities then Iguodala in my opinion. SF- Andre Iguodala- Though he is naturally a shooting guard due to the lack of a solid small forward he will be the starting small forward in my lineup. He could become one of those Bruce Bowen, Ron Artest, or Trenton Hassel type defenders should he keep improving his defense. I have no problem having him here. PF- Chris Webber- No reasoning needed. C- Samuel Dalembert- 60+ Million Dollars.
I would love to see: PG - Allen Iverson SG - John Salmons SF - Andre Iguodala PF - Chris Webber C - Samuel Dalembert But it will likely be: PG - Allen Iverson SG - Kyle Korver SF - Andre Iguodala PF - Chris Webber C - Samuel Dalembert
Well tell u the truth is will live to see slamons in the starting position at the 2 spot because korver is not what that is. He lacks defense, he can ove his feet well but he is very good i will give them that. He can be a good bench player that can average about 15 off the bench. pg. Allen - c-mon sg. Andre - defense sf. John salmons - ? pf. Webber- his year c . Sammy- 60*million
Here's my lineup- PG- Iverson/Salmons/Williams SG- Iguodala/Salmons/Korver SF- Korver/Nailon PF- Webber/Randolph/Bradley C- Dalembert/Hunter Although I don't think Salmons will break into the starting lineup, he probably will be playing a much bigger role than he has the past two seasons. Cheeks has said that he loves his game and was impressed overall. Either that or lead to what O'Brien did to Glenn Robinson. Still, Salmons will be getting more minutes, we really don't have a backup at shooting guard so he's the best we have. Because Korver fits much better with Iverson and Webber, he's going to be in the starting lineup. The duo creates much more for him than they do for Nailon, who isn't as great of a shooter. I know I've said Nailon would be the starter before, but after I really analyzed this, Korver's my pick. Currently, we really don't have a good backup at powerforward, so I really don't know how thats going to pan out. Randolph and Gai are both way too underdeveloped while I really don't want to play Bradley for too long.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting C.K.:</div><div class="quote_post"> PG - Allen Iverson SG - Kyle Korver SF - Andre Iguodala PF - Chris Webber C - Samuel Dalembert</div> korver playing the 2? i dont think that that's going to work out too good. i want him to be coming off the bench to give us a scoring punch. same thing as nailon. i prefer to see a lineup like this: pg AI sg Andre sf Salmons pf Webber C Sammy we should at least give salmons a chance, and then go from there.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">we should at least give salmons a chance, and then go from there.</div> I really don't think Salmons is ready to be starting material yet. While Korver and Nailon both have a lot of experience starting and playing at the small forward spot, Salmons barely has any except from the 03-04 campaign. He'll still be gaining experience and we'll still be giving him a chance, just not as a starter. Salmons will have to work for that.
