San Antonio spurs miami heat indiana pacers detroit pistons houston rockets phoenix suns cleveland cavaliers dallas mavericks sacremento kings denver nuggets I don't get how your putting cleveland and denver below the bulls, clips, and GS care to explain your choices
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TmacGarnett:</div><div class="quote_post"></div> Well, I think the Clips are better than Cleveland. Cleveland has added Hughes, Marshall, and Jones, but they're still a little fragile. The Clippers are just too solid. Brand is the most solid player in the league, outside of Duncan. Maggette is a scorer, and will get to the free throw line quite a bit. Cuttino will have a breakout year, and along with Sam, they'll never be out of a game. Golden State will take Phoenix's spot last year as the "run and gun" team of the league. Baron Davis will put up career numbers, and Richardson will be spectacular. Denver will start off good, but I think somebody on that team is going to clash with George Karl before the allstar break. So that's why I put them so low.[/QUOTE]

On top of that, he was one of the big reasons Warriors had the spurt at the end of the season so if anything, they're more fragile than Cleveland or Phoenix. Cleveland has a better squad with a rounded bench while Phoenix has become a better rounded team overall with the additions of Kurt Thomas and Raja Bell. Sorry, but I just find it ludicrous you can put a team that went to the Western Conference finals last year under the Bulls and Golden State.
I don't see how this has to do with the Rockets at all. Yes, I know Houston is probably going to be in the lists somehow but it's too easy to derail and go off-topic, turning into discussions about other teams like we're already seeing. I'm going to move this to the NBA forum.

They don't cause him to miss games, but slow him down. Maggette's injury last year caused him to miss the rest of the season. If he is fully recovered he will be a good addition, but won't get to the line like you said. Brand as you said is a solid player. I feel sorry for him for being on a team that isn't winning. As for mobley, there is so much offense on the team that I don't see him getting as many touches as he did when he was in Houston or Sacremento. They have no depth outside of shaun livingston who is injury prone and needs to prove he can play a whole season or close to it. As for GS, the "run and gun" team...They have two players that can run with them on fast break and thats Baron and Jrich. Yes...just having Jrich on the fast break is very valuable but common...Nash is a much better fast break point gaurd and Marion and Stoudemire combined would account for jrich and the front court's points per game. I might be exxagerating the last one but GS has no real depth. Phoenix did a great job at gaining depth even if they lost qrich and jj which are big losses.
Phoenix won because they ran last year. Steve Nash isn't a half court point guard. That's what people don't factor in. When he was with Dallas, they sucked when you slowed the game down. Phoenix won't be a top 5 team, I put money on it. Golden State will make some noise. Davis is injury prone, but if he plays 75% of the games, they'll be all right. I can't believe your sleepin on the Clippers. They have enough talent where Maggette or Sam doesn't have to play as many mins. They would have been good last year, but they lost tons of games downt the stretch. They'll win almost ALL those games this year.
Name some of that talent that will replace sam and maggette so they don't play as many minutes. I know one is shaun livingston if he stays healthy. Whats another?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Sure Golden State will make noise, but that doesn't mean they will be tenth in the league.
As long as the Suns have Nash, Amare and Marion they will continue to be a running team. Maybe not as great as last year but they should be equally as good. The Suns are suited better to match up with the Spurs. Which at the end of the day is all that matters for that team. Wether they win 60 or 54, If they don't have the guys to beat the Spurs why does It matter? I do think the Suns match-up alot better this year with the additions of KT and mainly Raja Bell. The depth factor is key as well. One of the reasons they struggled was lack of depth. They have sorted out their depth quite well this summer.

Please everyone ignore Rock, he is a Suns hater. Putting Chicago, GS, and others in front of Phoenix is crazy. We can laugh about this thread in June. Rock remember this name.........AMARE STOUDEMIRE! Amare will be even more dominant this season.

They're still not a good defensive team. They still have no post player. They still have Marion, and Amare, but NO 3pt threats outside of Jimmy Jackson. Joe Johnson and Q gave them wings to fly up and down court, don't expect them to fly anymore. If "if it ain't broke, dont fix it" was true, they would have kept Q and Joe Johnson. Phoenix just isn't big enough to compete in the West anymore. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting emannen:</div><div class="quote_post">Rock remember this name.........AMARE STOUDEMIRE! Wow Rock. Let's see...LAC added Mobley and Cassell (both aging)and Korolev (who is a joke), and they lost Simmons (who was probably their most consistent player behind Brand last year). They will be the ones fighting for the 8th seed and you can book that. GSW has improved with Baron but they're still very young and inconsistent. They will be another team competing for the 7th or 8th seed. I see Phoenix taking a very small step back, but they're still top 10 (probably around 5 or 6). NJ is very deep, look for them to win a lot of games this year partly because they are in the Atlantic. My list: 1. SA 2. Miami 3. Detroit 4. Indiana 5. Phoenix 6. Houston 7. Dallas 8. Sacramento 9. Denver 10. NJ I didn't put Cleveland on, because their core hasn't played together other than Z and Lebron. Also, their bigmen are all very injury prone and they seriously lack depth.

They just wanted to add more defense into their system since that's what seemed to have killed them in the playoffs. Suns lost a bit of ground, but there's no justice in putting them that low. Right now they have Nash, Marion, and Jim Jackson as three point threats. And as a fastbreak team, it doesn't necessarily mean they need shooters on the arc, they can still run it with mid range shooters as well. As a team, they have much more elite players (Nash, Amare, Marion) than Golden State (Davis, Richardson). In addition, they have a better bench compared to the Warriors.

Why would I bash you for posting power rankings? If you made some post saying something completely out of line I would call you out on It. I obviously disagree with your rankings but everyone's is different. Pre-season Power rankings are simply predictions and have no effect on the season. Come june I'm very confident who I know will be in the finals. Thats all that matters. I was right last year, I will be right again.
