Since I think Bob sura Career is over I think they should put Derek Anderson as the starting point guard cause Mike James does better doing instant scoring as a backup. Here is my starting Five : 1)Yao Ming 2)Tracy Mcgrady 3)Stromile Swift 4)Derek Anderson 5)David Wesley So what do you Guys think?
If Sura thinks he's done, I know Van Gundy will really miss him. He played hard and sured up that point guard spot that killed us early last season. You only listed 2 of the 7 guards we have. Mike James might be the best player, not point, available if the roster stays as is. Luther Head, with all his talent, is going to have to step up to the learning curve cause we could really use him now. I know I would hate to see Ward or Mooch take minutes away from Head. Barry will get more minutes, and he can pass. DA is the starting 2. Mike James DA TMac Swift Yao That looks good to me. Miles from last years opening day lineup. Let Mcgrady handle the ball with shooters and scorers around him, like Magic, and still be able to take over the scoring at anytime. The Rockets were very slow last year, shouldn't be that way this year.

I think the starting PG should be anderson...simply because we're gonna have three solid, capable ballhandlers on the floor anyway in anderson, wesley, and mcgrady...wesley can guard the point guards defensively...he wont pressure but he'll body them up and use his bulk and strength to make them uncomfortable...that gives us a great offensive starting lineup, and Barry would take Anderson's spot as the second guard off the bench behind James...I think we'll be alright and that should hold us well until Sura returns...
Why is everyone thinking that Wesley isn't as good a passer as Anderson? Wesley has averaged 4.6 APG his whole career. The best Anderson has averaged is 4.3 APG. Am I missing out on something here?

For example last year in the playoff with jerry stack house.

Wesley got abused in the playoffs by him. He may of shot 40% from the field (which is much better than Wesley did) but his misses didn't come at crucial times. Whenever they needed a big bucket Stackhouse and Finley got it, and Wesley couldn't stop it.

I'm pretty sure we will be seeing Mike James starting. Like it or not, but thats what will happen unless we sign someone.
Like shooter said, i would put DA at the one and wesley at the two on offense, and then have them swap on the other side of the ball. I think DA is a better passer than wesley and sure was last year. Wesley is best off as just a catch and shoot guy for us on offense. Mike James should be having the point most of the time and hopefully head will back him up.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting aznstud:</div><div class="quote_post">For example last year in the playoff with jerry stack house.</div> Finally somebody who actually watched the playoffs last year. Finley and Stackhouse KILLED us. He didn't shoot really well, but Stackhouse hit some big shots on Wesley, and so did Finley. Wesley didn't do a good job on them, and Stackhouse shouldn't have averaged 13pts. The time to trade Wesley is perfect. I don't like DA starting point. He needs to be finishing the fast break, not distributing. He can spend some time there, but he shouldn't start there. I would rather have James start. I HATE that idea, but if we can't trade Wesley then it'll have to be............... <div align="center">James Anderson Tmac Howard Yao</div>
I would love for Bobby to stay but if he believes it's his time then I respect that. C-Yao PF-Stro' SF-T-Mac SG-DA PG-Mike James(maybe J-Will IF we get him)

Since everyone are so down on Wesley for his supposed horrid performance against Dallas in the playoffs, his value would be pretty low right now. If we really had to trade him, I'd say hold off and see how well the team does as well as let him raise his stock a bit before trading him away. With your current description of him, he sounds like he's not even worth as much as Ryan Bowen. By the way, Wesley didn't just lower Stackhouse's efficiency, but held him below season average numbers for points. Just want to throw it out there.
start yao ming as point guard he got some handles, lol jk. i say we start Luther Head and see how he does during preseason. but its going to be very intresting to see what the rockets do.

It's ludicrous to suggest that Stackhouse killed Wesley last year. Why was Wesley on him in the first place if he was doing a bad job? The way some are making it sound, even Moochie Norris would have done a better job.
i think james should start until we see what head can do. if hes great we should start him. if he has those bad rookie nights then we could just put barry as the back up. i love barry's passes to tracy or yao. he makes it look easy
