was just checkin all the rosters according to nba.com and couldnt find anyone on your team that seems to be a decent starter. who's going to fill the roll? just wondering thanks guys
I'm under the impression it's going to be PG by committee for the Lakers next season. PJax will be tinkering with the lineup all season long. I think you'll see Aaron McKie being the PG down the stretch of games, and will start against some of the teams in the league. I think McKie and George will get the bulk of the minutes at PG this season.

At this point I must ask you to leave this thread due to the fact you do not have the required Avatar descriptions to be in this section of the facility?. LOL? Just kidding dude, I have no idea who?s going to be starting as PG. I?m thinking; Mackie? Wafer? Odom? Kobe?
Sasha fever-catch it <div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm under the impression it's going to be PG by committee for the Lakers next season. He has shown in limited time that he can shoot and is a great passer.

Thats true, we were definitely missing that last year... We had NO veteran leadership; not to diss Kobe, because out of all the players, he was the veteran--the only one who has gone all the way... But as far as having someone like Horry, or Malone, we had no one...

I went to the Summer League Games, and watched him make a fool of himself on defense and passing the ball. His outside shooting has improved, but he still doesn't know how to defend against back door cuts, and was two steps behind his man on defense. Omar Cook took him off the dribble time and time again, leading to easy dunks from Cook's teammates, and uncontested layups. His game is not suited for the Triangle, I think he needs to go to a team that likes to run and gun, Phoenix, Denver, Atlanta etc.
Where's Chucky Atkins when you need him? McKie running the point? Jeez, I wonder how well he'll stay in front of Bibby Parker Nash Baron BOYKINS... Lakers better make sure they don't allow penetration in the paint cause their perimeter defense will be not so hot...

Chuck Atkins is one of the worst perimeter defenders in the league. He has lead in his feet on defense and has no idea how to defend the pick and roll. The Lakers will miss his 3pt shooting, but McKie will be a better fit with this team. Nash, Bibby, B.Diddy, Parker, and Boykins all have the ability to take any defender off the dribble. They are generally quicker than the person guarding them and have the dribbling skills and footwork to get a step on their defender. The key is how the second line of defense reacts to the dribble penetration. The Lakers will have to rely on their length to make up for the lack of speed. Kwame, Mihm, Odom, McKie, and Kobe can all make up a lot of ground because they all have a long wingspan and quick enough to rotate over. The Lakers also need Kwame and Mihm to start intimidating players and dishing out hard fouls. If they can establish the paint, it will make it easier for the perimeter defense to put pressure on the ball and get it out of the point guards hands.

If Kwame and Chris can't establish a presence down there then teams will feast, especially PHX, SA, GS, SAC, even Utah...Teams will get a fast break and Phil's going to have damp fingers all season long from whistling for timeouts. And no, I'm not implying Chucky can stop those guys at all, just my last sighting of McKie he was looking old, slow and injured.
