Pinstripes are out. A cleaner, sleeker look is in. "I really didn't like the pinstripes," said Jermaine O'Neal, who modeled the home and away uniforms Thursday with teammate Stephen Jackson. "I think it's a transition period for it. Obviously Reggie (Miller) is not here anymore, so it's a new-look team. I think getting new uniforms to go with that is perfect." Settling on the new gear, the 11th in franchise history and first change since 1997, took two years. Reebok designed six uniforms. Pacers officials narrowed the list to two before deciding. "It wasn't an easy process," Pacers president Larry Bird said. "The players had some say, but not the final say. But you try to get their input because they are the ones that have to wear the uniforms. It's a sleek look." Source
I don't see what the problem was. I thought the pinstripes added a flair of individuality. It really set them apart from other teams. The pinstripeless ones just look plain.
These new uniforms suck. The pinstripes on the Pacers jerseys always stood out as a trademark to me. If the real reason for the change is because of the departure of Reggie, then the whole change is stupid. The new jerseys just look like everyone elses new ones, Memphis in particular.
To me this is just garbage... why did they have to dump the old jerseys? There was no reason for it. The old jerseys were much much better looking and original than these jerseys. I guess everyone wants to be alike in the NBA...
I think this new look looks a lot better. I wasn't a big fan of the stripes. Now I may be thinking of getting a Pacers jersey sometime soon. There is only one problem with these new jerseys, without the classic pin stripes they look very similar to teams such as the Magic and the Grizzlies uniforms. This could be a bad thing if they keep changing teams jerseys and they all start looking alike. Lets hope that some NBA teams will hold on to their originality and not change to look like the rest of the teams in the league.
They`re pretty nice, it shows off like a new beginning after the whole Reggie era. I did like the pinstripes though...
I'm not liking all these "cleaner" changes. It woulkd be better if this was something for Houston, becasue Houston's changes from the pinstripes wasn't much of an improvement. However, I DO like this one, If Pinstripes coulda been added, it woulda been 10 x better though. I didn't understand MEmphis' change, or Orlando's change of univorms the past two seasons

UGLY. I hate those uniforms. They shoulda stayed with the ones they had. Now that is like 3 different uniforms in ten years. Just leave it alone damnit.
