Simple as it can be: Pick your top 10 picks (whatever criteria you want to use) for East Versus West; pick 5 starters a piece, 5 reserves; who would win? West: PG- Steve Nash SG- Kobe Bryant SF- Tracy McGrady PF- Tim Duncan C- Yao Ming Reserves- F/C Dirk Nowitzki, G Baron Davis, F Andrei Kirlienko, G Ray Allen, F/C Amare Stoudemire East: PG- Allen Iverson SG- Dwayne Wade SF- LeBron James PF- Jermaine O'Neal C- Shaquille O'Neal Reserves- F/C Ben Wallace, F Antawn Jamison, G Jason Kidd, G Steve Francis, F/G Vince Carter I have to give this one to the West... barely. The offensive prowess of the Western Players is impressive, even when compared to this Eastern arsenal. (I just realized that there are about 12, 13 active players who may be Hall of Famers/ Note: I just couldn't put KG on a team I created; even in my imagination). So, who's yours? Who'd win? Why?
Damn!! Didn't realize that the East gotta squad like that. But the West just simply has too many weapons. KG belongs over Dirk.

Ever since he broke Rick Rickert's jaw at practice because he kept scoring, I've put KG kind of in my Sprewell category of players whose hands I wouldn't shake. But, he's still possibly the best in the league. And, he might not be a bad guy. You ever just hear one of those things that just kind of changed how you looked at a player?
Rick Rickert; 6'11; C/F from University of Minnesota (I think); training camp before last season. Rickert apparently got his grill smashed to the degree it had to be wired. I'll try to find the article for you.

West: PG- nash SG- kobe bryant SF- Tracy Mcgrady PF- Tim Duncan C- Yao Ming Reserves- F/C Kevin Garnett, G Baron Davis, F Shawn Marion, G Ray Allen, F/C Amare Stoudemire East: PG- Allen Iverson SG- Dwayne Wade SF- LeBron James PF- Jermaine O'Neal C- Shaquille O'Neal Reserves- F/C Ben Wallace, F Antawn Jamison, G Jason Kidd, G Gilbert Arenas, F/G Vince Carter
Here's a seemingly biased recount of the day from a certain, highly-reputed basketball web-site: "MVP clobbering Rick Rickert a second round draft pick of the Minnesota Timberwolves was apparently outplaying the team's mighty league MVP in a pickup game. The rookie's glory didn't last however, because Kevin Garnett unexpectedly landed a fist to the new guy's grill. Rick needed stitches to close a cut on his chin and had a chipped tooth. Nothing to joke about. The rookie was trying to make the Minnesota squad and was without a single doubt firing on all cylinders. Garnett on the other hand really doesn't have a strong motivation at this point in the season. But he surely wasnt happy to play the turnstile that served as the gateway to the NBA. Now the queston is did the Timberwolves organization do anything about KG? I mean you can't get slugged by an 8 figure corporate giant for nothing can you. If yeah, it's worth considering that in the real world it's called assault. In all honesty it was a sucker punch from an individual who was thought to have more class. If you notice well, you won't see mention or detail of the incident on most major NBA media sites. Kevin is the golden child that get the good side of the media. Pehaps also it's because of Rick Rickert's lack of reputation that this incident has such a low profile. Basically Minnesota (and the NBA) can do without Rick so no big talk here. Indeed, such a cruel cruel world." Apparently my account was over-done: Rickert's jaw was not broken. Especially since the first article I found was so well-written for my biased purpose: I encourage you to type in "Kevin Garnett" and "Rick Rickert" into your favorite search engine and see for yourself.

I'm not really sure about this whole topic. What does it really matter who has the better stars, because the West has the better teams. For argument's sake though, here's the lineup I'd put out there - West PG - Steve Nash SG - Kobe Bryant SF - Dirk Nowitzki PF - Kevin Garnett C - Tim Duncan Bench: G - Mike Bibby, G - Ray Allen, F - Tracy McGrady, F - Amare Stoudamire, C - Yao Ming East PG - Jason Kidd SG - Dwyane Wade SF - LeBron James PF - Jermaine O'Neal C - Shaquille O'Neal Bench: G - Gilbert Arenas, G - Allen Iverson, F - Ron Artest, F - Dwight Howard, C - Ben Wallace BTW - Welcome to JBB!
