<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The top Nuggets player not returning is Person, who averaged 8.1 points in 25 games after signing March 3. Person was not offered guaranteed money by the Nuggets and is holding out for such a deal. "I don't think he'll be (in any camp Tuesday)," said Person's agent, Herb Rudoy, who named Atlanta, Philadelphia and Minnesota as teams most interested in Person. "There are a number of (NBA) veterans in his position. He's willing to wait (for a guaranteed contract)."</div> link: http://rockymountainnews.com/drmn/nuggets/...4121311,00.html i dont know how we can make this signing work. from my other post about matt barnes, someone (i think it was Martin or BKS) said that we already have enough players, and if we sign someone, it means that we will release someone, which means that michael bradley and kevin ollie are on the hot seat?
It was not me that said we have enough good players, but to answer that statement it would not necessarily put anyone who is currently under contract on the hot seat. Due to the new collective bargaining agreement we can have 15 players under contract I believe. We currently have only 13, one of those being the semi retired Jamal Mashburn. It would however put pressure on guys trying to make the team that we have brought into our preseason roster. I think Person is a great shooter, but he is a senior citizen now it seems like him and Mutombo seem to have been around forever. I think he would be brought in to fill the void left by Mckie as a veteran, shooter, and locker room leader. Not much more he would probably see sometime should an injury occur. I thought I read an article however where King stated he would only sign a player at this point off free agency if he believed it would put the 76ers over the top due to the fact we are in the luxury tax area currently.
Well we need some good offense coming off the bench say if we did sign Person so I wouldn`t be suprised if we nabbed him.
I wouldn't be too against this- our bench is pretty weak with really only Nailon or Korver as the consistent guys. Meanwhile, Salmons and Hunter are both pretty iffy since we really don't know what to expect from both of them. Bringing in Person would be a good move since he can bring back some veteran presence that was lost when Mckie and Jackson left. He's a good three point shooter that can work well with the Iverson and Webber combo. I guess I'll be for this move, although his defense is pretty suspect.
unless their already signed i think we should go for REECE GAINES or MARCUS HAISLIP or LONNY BAXTER apparently they are very good players who are about to take over the nba i heard that nate robinson busted on them during summer league and he is so good that they must be worth signing???
