    Van Gundy-
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"I don't think you win big at this level without a point guard primary ball-handler," Van Gundy said. "Does that have to be a true point? I think (Tracy) McGrady is as good a point as there is in the league when it comes to running an offense.

"Now, who guards point guards? That was a concern last year. We had trouble guarding the ball one-on-one obviously. But we feel confident in Mike. David (Wesley) can guard point guards, so we can play with Tracy handling it. And we have guys who are capable handlers: Derek, Barry, Wesley.

"We feel comfortable there. Defensively, I probably have more trepidation about how we're going to function than offensively without a true quote-unquote point."</div>

For some reason i cant insert links or quote or anything.

well Tmac won't actually be listed as the PG, but he did run a lot of our offense last year, so I see what JVG is saying.

Hmmm... TMac running the floor sounds quite cool because he has the talent to do it. It'll be interesting to see him driving in and dish it out. Well thats kinda what he does anyways lol.

He want play pg because he is a scorer and the rockets need him to score, but you can say he is one because he has the ball in his hands 85% of the time anyway. I say start james and make luther come off the bench

I agree on that Tmac will bring up the ball most likely, point gaurd duties will go to someone else. I recommend that someone else be Luther Head because for some reason i love this young mans game. He isn't the spark of the bench Mike James is. Thats why James should come off the bench.

On offence he may be able to do it, but will he be willing to actually swaet on defence when trying to guard a Mike Bibby or a Steve Nash?

Guess you weren't watchin when TMac shut down Dirk in the playoff series against the Mavs. He is willing to do anything to win and he definitely would want to guard the opposing team's best perimeter player. However, I won't like to him to expend so much energy doing that.

I know I mentioned this in another post, but I would love to see M.James starting point and TMac running the offense like Magic did. He would have 3 other athletic players and a big man in the middle. He and Lebron are the closest to the skill and size, plus the creativity that Magic had.

Won't happen, seeing as how they have Alston now. Plus, who's going to score points now that you have your premier scorer setting up plays? Not everything works out like that (AI), Kobe didn't like having to run the offense.

Way to dispute rumors three days after they're posted and a major move has been made. [IMG]
