I think you could make an argument of the Rockets being up there

Can someone explain to me with logical sense how the Raptors are ranked lower than the Bobcats, Hornets, Hawks and Blazers?

I would almost be more comfortable putting the Heat and Suns at 4 & 5. There's no telling how their changes will go over this season. The Pistons should drop to 3 for that matter (new coach). Maybe the Rockets should be 4 and Heat and Suns 5 & 6. I'm cool with Spurs at #1, that I do know.

Purple Fever, whose left in Toronto besides Bosh to push them over the other teams you noted?

I know we're a bottom 5 team as far as rankings, but I believe a core group of:
    Bosh
    Peterson
    Rose
    Alston
    Villanueva
    Graham
    Bonner

    is better than:

    Williams
    Harrington
    Childress
    Smith
    Pachulia

    or

    Felton
    May
    Okafor
    Bogans

    or

    Paul
    JR Smith
    Claxton
    Magloire

    or

    Miles
    Randolph
    Ratliff
    Telfair
    Outlaw

.. not this season that's for sure.

All six teams directly above Seattle have no business being above them, especially Milwakee.

Somehow the loss of four key players and the addition of injury prone BJax makes the Grizzlies the 11th team? Stein must be friends with the Czar.

This list reminds me of how Steve Kerr had the Jazz at the top of the west in his preseason rankings last year.

I hope he has a good season, he's the kind of player any team could benefit from.

Im ok with steins early rankings but when he puts my Sonics are 18 its just laughable..the guy likes to be wrong. I have no clue what his logic is. Of course he put us at 29th last year and we all saw how that went.

I think alot of people are overlooking the Sonics AGAIN this year. I see them as a top team in the West, possibly better then Houston.

lol.......The Suns don't deserve to be that high. The Rockets are a better team. I can't wait till the end of the season when I look back at this garbage and laugh..

They had the best record in the NBA...and upgraded 100% with defense in Diaw, Bell, James, and Kurt Thomas.

You still have the 3 most important guys on your team

    Nash
    Stodimire
    Marion

Now you have more role players (better playoff chemistry) with defense...so why not?

Rockets didnt even make it out of the first round, T'Mac is still a loser.

Excactly! I just can't understand how can a NBA "expert" put Lakers and Knicks ahead of Sonics. Yes we lost a coach but Bob Weiss has all the experience in the world and he is familiar to Sonics roster and playing system so losing Nate won't affect us. Also we lost Big Game James. So what? I think Mikki Moore will do the same for us that James if not more. Also it's time for young Swift to step up. The biggest loss was Antonio Daniels but I think Ronald Murray can fill that 3rd guard position superbly. Also we added Rick Brunson to back up our point. So to tell that Sonics lost key pieces is just ridiculous.
I don't think we will win Northwest again but we should battle at least for a 6th to 8th seed in the west and I'm sure as hell that we finish with a better record than Lakers and Knicks.
