If the Bulls and Knicks are close to a deal, that will happen. The Bulls could include Eric Piatkowski or Jannero Pargo in the deal. The Knicks need better outside shooting, and Piatkowski could fill the bill. Pargo's agent, Mark Bartelstein, said Pargo would sign the Bulls' qualifying offer Monday unless he fits in a sign-and-trade. If and when Curry accepts the qualifying offer, expect a dramatic chain of events, starting with his refusal to undergo a genetic test that could help determine the extent of his heart condition. Paxson did not respond to messages over the weekend but has said he will comment Monday.</div> Source
Yeah, you guys did my bad. I don?t feel so bad about this however I am happy we finally got this out of the way. Wonder who we got in return, and if packaged Pargo with him I hope we did not, and hope we got Ariza in return instead of Lee, but who knows as long as we got a good young player or a 1st round draft pick I?m straight. Looks like the Knicks just officially sent their team to cap hell for another six years.
It can lower if we do get rid of TT. We've already got rid of JYD. Isiah is making progressions to lower the cap.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Breaking News: Bulls GM John Paxson announced that the team has traded center Eddy Curry to the New York Knicks. Details of the trade will be posted as soon as they become available. </div> It's on Bulls.com, so I would say yes.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting GotSkillz92:</div><div class="quote_post">It can lower if we do get rid of TT. We've already got rid of JYD. He is not making progress to lower the cap however, he is working around it, and I give Isaiah credit for that.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Best Kept Secret:</div><div class="quote_post">..., and hope we got Ariza in return instead of Lee....</div> Don't count Lee out as a solid NBA 6th man yet. He could turn out to be that energy guy you need off the bench. He is a smart player. Sure he could use a couple of inches on his vert and a more consistant jumper, but without those weaknesses he would have been lottery.
But if we're dropping Lee, Sweetney, Ariza. Whoever theyre trading. They're lowering the cap. Again Isiah is an idiot. He signs Crawford and then Q-rich. He signs Frye then James then Curry. He just loads the positions with overpaid players.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting GotSkillz92:</div><div class="quote_post">But if we're dropping Lee, Sweetney, Ariza. Whoever theyre trading. Curry?s deal which he will sign will likely be worth 10-11 million a year according to the rumors so the Knicks will have worse cap for the next several years opposed to them having held on to TT contract for this season, and having it come off the books next summer.
Dam, I thought the trade would lower the cap. The knicks just have alot of overpaid contracts. Its poor management.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting GotSkillz92:</div><div class="quote_post">He signs Frye then James then Curry.</div> 22 feet of center and not a rebound among them.

However, I have gotten a chance to see Ariza play, and he is a great overall player I really like him, and that is why I would like for us to have acquired him as opposed to Lee. I also heard that Ariza gained ten pounds of muscle this offseason so it shows he will keep making progress.
Yahoo says we sent Curry and Antonio Davis for Tim Thomas, Mike Sweetney and Jermaine James. Draft picks were also swapped. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AkTp...ov=ap&type=lgns
Damn, not only do we lose Curry, but also our locker room leader in Davis. Davis will probably be released by the knicks later this month though, so he can resign with us. I would welcome that. Let's also hope Sweetney turns out to be a good fit. Because we already know Thomas is going to be a pain in the ***.
yeah i heard the Knicks will release Davis and we can re-sign him at the minimum. We will have plenty of cap room next year as well. Thomas may not be a pain if we are winning.
I don't know if he's gonna stay quiet if we're winning. He's in the last year of his contract, and we already have Deng, Songaila en Nocioni at his best position. All players that i assume Skiles will like better. What will he do if he doesn't get his minutes?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Noir:</div><div class="quote_post">What will he do if he doesn't get his minutes?</div> Get optioned to the NBDL where he belongs?

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Bulls general manager John Paxson expressed frustration and disappointment over trading a potential franchise centerpiece for years to come. Paxson simply thought center Eddy Curry left him with no other choice. Paxson eventually thought sending Curry to the New York Knicks, even if the Bulls did not get market value for a strong post scorer, was better than endangering Curry's life. The Bulls held fast to their demand that Curry, who missed the last 13 games of the 2004-05 season and the playoffs after experiencing an arrhythmia, take a DNA test which could determine if Curry was genetically predisposed to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which can be fatal when combined with arrhythmia. "I'm trying to do the right thing for the Chicago Bulls, but I'm also trying to do the right thing for Eddy," Paxson said. "I didn't like sending him to New York. I would not want anyone to be in a position to make a decision like this. It wasn't fun." </div> <div align="center">Source</div>
